Ok, purchased my HV Invader Mini yesterday and after some fiddling around, it seemed to be doing well... Today: Put freshly charged battery in, and freshly built 1.4ohm coil at 11am, beating up on it pretty good ( used about 12ml of juice) averaging around 8W wanting to see how it did on battery life. By 10pm, the battery indicator showed empty, but had no "low battery " indicator. Picked up the mod, 5 click turn on, hit fire button, and about choked my self! The display had changed from the 8W to the default 10W, and from showing voltage to temp. Mind you, it was laying untouched from the last hit approximately 10 min before. Needless to say, this fried the coil.... Ok, is this typical of this type of mod? Was it something I did incorrectly?
Keep in mind, I'm used to an MVP2, or an istick 20w type of APV, and this is my first external battery mod..

Any and all input will be appreciated, as I'm seriously considering either returning the mod or trading it at the very least.

Thanks,

Did you store the 8 watt setting, sounds like whatever happened, the unit returned to default settings, I assume you were running in normal kanthal mode, not TC mode?

I had locked the power setting at 8W because I had noticed earlier that it defaulted when I replaced the tank after a refill. As for the kanthal mode, I've noticed that it changes to the TC mode on its own, however, after firing, it changes back on its own. Is there a way to lock it into the regular kanthal mode?

Thanks

New TC mod - Invader mini - specs online! | E-Cigarette Forum
Some discussions about it here. Actual users might be able to help more. I passed on it for a number of reasons in the thread. I've been fooling with cheap Chinese mods for a little while but I'm over it now. I'm building a TC mod with the yihi board and bought a vaporshark in 30w yesterday to fill my other void. Good luck to you......
