Hello and welcome back for yet another review in my long series of reviews. This time I was sent the Oxbar bipod pod kit for review by Oxbar which is a subsidiary of Oxva. I previously reviewed the Oxbar RRD for them and was honestly quite impressed by it. The bipod is a tube style pod kit that has a 650mah battery and comes with two, yes I said two, pods. Recently there seems to have been a trend where many kits are only coming with one pod but the bipod does in fact come with two. I thought that all of the Oxbar devices were going to be disposables but that isn’t really the case. The bipod is available in two different types of kits. You can buy the pre-filled kit which comes with one of the ten available flavors or you can buy the refillable kit like I received for this review. I am rather glad to have received the latter of the two. The included pods have a 2ml liquid capacity and contain built in .8 ohm mesh coils that promise to deliver good flavor. The body of the Bipod is made of aluminum alloy and the pods are made of PCTG. The bipod is an auto draw only device with not button and a single indicator light.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:
The packaging is fairly basic but nice enough for a device such as this. The box comes sealed in plastic with a tear strip about ¼ of the way down from the top to help with removing the wrapper. The front of the box has a picture of the Oxbar bipod but isn’t necessarily the same color as the one inside the package. Both of the ones I received were blue but the picture on the front did not match. The name of the device is on top and in smaller print you can see that I received the refillable kit. Both kits I received for the review are identical. Also near the bottom it is indicated that a free lanyard is included if you happen to like things like that. I personally don’t like or use lanyards.
The back of the box is well done in my opinion for a device like this. Not only does it give a contents list and a list of features but also has some basic instructions on how to use the device along with pictures. There is also an authenticity code and a bar code indicating the color version contained inside the package.
Once the plastic wrapper is removed then the box can be opened from one end and the bipod is slid out in a plastic tray with the two pods in foil packs located to the left of the device. The lanyard, USB-C charging cable, and instruction card are tucked underneath the plastic tray. This is actually a much nicer kit than I was expecting from Oxbar. Well done and kudos for including two pods. The two pods included are both .8 ohm but I’m more than ok with that.
The pods included are fairly dark tinted and not the easiest to see the liquid level inside of without additional lighting. The pods are a side fill type and there is an arrow molded into the rubber plug pointing down which seemed odd to me at first but if you pull down then it makes it easier to remove the plug and makes sense. This one is fairly easy to remove for filling the pod. The opening is fairly large and should fit most types of bottles for filling without making a mess. Just pay close attention when filling since the pod is somewhat dark.
The mouthpiece on the pod is flat although the pod is round. I have to say that I simply love the shape of the mouthpiece on this one and find it very comfortable to use without getting any extra air intake due to a lack of my lips sealing on the mouthpiece.
In the third picture below you can see the two electrical contact that convey the power to the coil inside the pod. The airflow inlet holes in the bottom of the pod are fairly large and allow a loose MTL type vape.
The pods are not held into place with magnets on this one. Instead the pod snaps into place in the pod opening on the battery and is held in place by two tabs so it cannot rotate. There are tabs molded into the sides of the pods that lock into place in the cut outs on the battery. There is a small airflow inlet hole on each side of the bipod body that provides the airflow to the pod. If you like a tighter draw then you could cover one of these holes.
The pod opening has the standard two gold plated spring loaded contacts that apply power to the pod. Near the top of the opening is the airflow sensor for the auto draw. This one is auto draw only and has no button.
On what I would call the front of the device here is the Oxbar bipod name printed in white near the bottom along with a single indicator light that illuminates white when you take a puff and illuminates red when charging the battery until it is fully charged.
The USB-C charging port is located on the bottom of the bipod and provides a 1A charging rate that can charge up to 80% in about 20 minutes to get you back up and running quickly.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
I honestly was expecting not much when I was told I was being sent the bipod for review. I figured it was just another disposable but it is so much more. It can be purchased with pre-filled cartridges like a disposable but what I received is really a nice full pod kit that can compete with many others on the market. I congratulate Oxbar for including two pods when so many others on the market are only including one.
I don’t really feel like I can give you a true reading on the flavor production on the bipod since I am recovering from Covid but did not lose my sense of taste or smell but do feel like my sense of taste is somewhat reduced. What I did was put a mix mint liquid in one device that I use daily at work and in the second one I put Dinner Lady Lemon Tart. The vape from the mint mix was very good and satisfying with really a large amount of vapor produced for a pod device. This mix is 15mg and I got a decent throat hit with it. I really wasn’t very optimistic that I would be able to taste the second one with the Dinner Lady mix in it but I could still taste the main components in it despite having a reduced sense of taste. I was pleasantly surprised because some of the mixes that I normally use have been tasting rather bland lately. I would have to conclude that the flavor production from the built in mesh coil is in fact pretty good if I can taste the main flavors.
I would like to thank Oxbar and Jocelyn for sending the Oxbar bipod samples for this review. Also thanks to you the readers. You make this possible. Below is a link to the Oxbar website if you would like to see what products they have available.
