Technically you could press it out and press it back in if you are proficient at such things. You may need to fab a pressing block with a recessed well to press it back in as the post presses back in past flush. The only caveat being, once you've re-pressed an item, it loses some of its tension. I've found too that if you use noalox on both sides of the top post contact and keep it lubed with such (atomizer side and battery side) the brass doesn't tarnish.
Thanks Dave that is what I was after (Noalox). I had a feeling it was pressed in.

I use this cleaner called Confidence and I have been using this stuff for every mod I've own. It will clean anything and almost any surface you can think of including brass, silver, aluminum, granite and stainless steel. I take a tooth brush and clean the entire S6 body and all brass connections. And its fast. Just take the mod apart, run a little tap water, dab the toothbrush in the cleaner and start scrubbing.
It cleans the heck out of my center post on my S6 510 cap and its easy to wash it off... The brass looks brand new within 10 seconds of light scrubbing. I highly recommend this stuff.
Oh and by far its the best metal cleaner or surface cleaner thus far. I've tried metal cleaners that cost 30 bucks and it doesn't even come close to this stuff. All you need is water to activate it. And it comes with a sponge that stay clean after use.... just run under water and squeeze it out and its clean.

I use one of the throw away electric toothbrushes (colgate I think) and it really does a job down in the adapter cap (spin action).
Not sure mines non toxic but I flush it with PGA (everclear) when I'm done. Gets rid of all the moisture and anything else left behind..
Confidence sounds more like something designed for a incontinence than for cleaning metals.

lol let me tell ya.... you'll be surprised with how much black stuff will come off your mods. And the sponge works very well with getting it off the body of your mods and tooth brush works very well with getting into those hard to reach places like the threads and center post down in the 510 cap. Just dont forget to add that noalax after words. I clean the threads because of dirt that may get down into the threads.
THere is a shop here that sells it but I haven't seen it anywhere else. But its worth getting because it will last you forever. I got this stuff last summer and I have used it on my GGT, S6, GGTS and P10 and it cleans them so well. The amount of black stuff that comes off is insane.
