The Beta version doesn't have the updated software. You can get them updated at a ProVari retailer or send in for the updates. Also there may be a difference in the springs that were used.

You should be able to take the beta to a Provape dealer that can perform the updates to get the latest version - or contact Provape to send the beta P3 for a version update. Each of these options may require a small fee.
The Beta Body is slightly different... it has a diamond engraving on the side to indicate it is a beta. The production model doesn't have this. The board is identical, and be upgraded to current specifications with the software update. Dealers that can update it are listed on the ProVape website, and of course, it can be sent to proVape as well.
No problem... the Beta is a cool unit... it was available ONLY to dealers, and they, for the most part, limited it to each deal being able to order only two... that makes it a pretty exclusive club. However... a few higher volume dealers DID have access to a single order of more units for friends and A+ customers to enjoy, but even with that, these remain quite rare and even though I see them selling for well-below market price on a new unit, in many years these will be THE collectible ProVari P3.
As long as it says it is for the P3, it will work regardless if it is the Beta.

Actually, yes... the Beta DOES have the smaller spring in there! Good point... AND anybody that is collecting them should MAKE SURE they hang onto the small spring cap if they get a larger spring replacement replacement cap.
