Hi guys and girls,
My name is Dennis and I have been smoking since I was 15 years old. I am now 23 and have been smoking a pack a day for years. When I would wake up my only motivation to get out of bed would be that first cigarette and the thought of not smoking while driving or after a meal used to make me nervous and angry.
Last week I drove to my local 711 to buy a pack of Marlboro Reds and I saw a poster in the window. It basically told of all the benefits of E-smoking and informed me that they were now for sale.

I picked up a starter kit from XhaleO2 for 20 dollars and rushed home to try it. I was skeptical that this could help me quit but for 20 dollars it was worth a try. While the flavor is a little off and the coating left on my throat after a drag is annoying, I really believe this is what is going to help me quit.

Today was the first day that I had woke up, took a shower, ate, watched TV, and then realized I hadnt even thought about a cigarette yet. I couldnt believe I had made that transformation so soon and with little effort.

I have slipped up a couple times and I have probably smoked 8 cigarettes over the last ten days (about 5 when I was drinking and my battery was dead) but the last few smokes I have had made me feel sick and remorseful.

Looking forward to meeting you all through the forum.

Welcome to ECF! And, congratulations for discovering vaping. Don't beat yourself up about smoking a few cigarettes, you're doing great to cut down from 20 cigarettes a day to a half pack in over a week! :)

Vaping doesn't work for everyone. But, since you seem to feel it will work for you, I suggest you read, read, read here on ECF (and elsewhere, but there's plenty here). Research the options, and get yourself a good PV, some good juice, and continue reading.

This place has a wealth of information, and lots of helpful folks to answer whatever questions you have. A word frequently used by newcomers (myself included) to describe the information here is, "overwhelming".

You'll likely get a ton of suggestions for specific PV models. There's a lot that's a matter of personal taste, very subjective. You may have to experiment a bit to find what's right for you. Heck, I've been in it for a half year and I just ordered a new PV Friday. :) For a lot of us it becomes a hobby.
