hello, i have a gp paps 18650 clone and it currently will not fire with my efest batteries in it. it's very strange. tried multiple atomizers on it with no luck. it fires with some terrible 18650 batteries in it, but they are a bit longer which led me to believe that the pin needed adjustment to make contact with the efest batteries. it did not help. Tried 3 different efest batteries that were fully charged that i tested in other mech mods that work with the same atomizers i tried on the paps.

i'm not new at this, but right now i am at a loss.

any help is appreciated.

I don't own a Paps clone (only authentic), but I'll take a stab at this...

What I suspect may be happening is that the Efest batteries (if they're like mine) might have "recessed" bottoms. My AW IMR's have a much flatter bottom (negative) terminal than the Efest's, and as a result the switch throw is a lot shorter with the AW's than with the Efest's......When I run Efest Purples in my authentic Paps's, the switch throw is much longer.

I wonder if your Efest's negative terminal may be recessed to the point where it's beyond the throw of the swtich? If the Paps clone is anything like the original, then the switch throw is very short......

maybe this is what's happening?

it is very short, barely protruding enough to make contact. i have some of the new LG batteries arriving today, and some of the sonys tomorrow, it was just making me very angry that it was working all day with the efest batteries, i changed it out and it no longer worked. wish the firing pin was a touch longer.

thanks for the help. never run into this issue with any of my mechs before.

That's a problem with clones... they copy a design, without a complete understanding of the function variables. Short throw buttons only tend to make battery selection more critical... or require button collet/insulator modification to accommodate certain battery types.

Mech "tuning" is just another entertaining part of the mech game. ;-)

Somewhere out there
My paps clone is my favorite mod at this point. I find it very flexible as far as fitting different batteries and atomizers.

You do know that the pin at the 510 is 2-way adjustable, right? First screw out the adjustment pin. Attach your atomizer. Screw in the wide part of the adjustment pin until it contacts the 510 of the atty. Then screw out the narrow part of the adjustment pin to contact the battery, while leaving the wide part alone where it is. This last bit will probably take several trials to get right, so the cap closes up with no battery rattle and no gap.
