Parallel 28 Guage

Not new to vaping but am new to parallel builds. So, I attempted my first 28 guage parallel single coil on 1/8 wrapped 11 times @ 1.3 ohms. The thing keeps making a flame! I'm pretty certain I didn't cross coils. So I attempted it again...this time making certain I didn't cross coil and it did it again. What gives? I'm using an authentic Hana dna30 @ 20.5 watts for this build and no other single coil nor dual coil has ever even remotely made a flame.

Have you checked the resistance on a meter? What mod/wattage are you using? In the absence of any more information, I would say that the issue is with your wicking. As far as I can remember if you cross the wires in a parallel build it tends to send the resistance higher rather than lower, but I'm not sure.

I'm using an authentic Hana Modz dna30 between 20-25 watts. My wick is Japanese organic slightly tight but not tight to where I can't move the wick back and forth in the coil

are you dry firing that thing with the cotton in place???? That will cause a flame. Other wise you have a short.
Absolutely NOT doing that lol. I dry fire and tighten all my coils.. Make sure they all heat from the inside out... Then wick. All was good then I wicked. Applied my liquid and fired. Two second hit and then the flame.

lol okay. Just making sure. As far as your flaming issue, I would have to say it's from lack of juice, or a short. Anytime I've had a wick go up in flames was when I wasn't paying attention and it went way too dry. If you think it's getting plenty of juice/airflow to keep it cool, then it's gotta be a short.

If you haven't, I would mount it to a meter and poke around a bit. It's gotta be shorting somewhere. Or you have a hotspot.
