Hi. I went and built myself a single parallel coil using 24awg kanthal, 4 wraps (8 single) coming in at 0.25ohms. Installed on a mutaition x v5, air wide open and sitting on a mech. Wicked with organic cotton using the same method for all my other builds. But also tried a bit more and less on other attempts. Coil lights up from the inside out and looks good. 1-2 second hits are amazing, but any longer and the wick cooks. So here's my question: Is this just the nature of the beast due to hardly any ramp up time combined with super hot temp and therefore juice being vaped faster than it's possible to wick for longer inhales, or is there something else at play? I've run through the check list; hot legs, tight screws, hot spots, more/less wick, fully primed etc.. Cheers guys.

What diameter mandrel are you wrapping on? I find that with hotter builds I go with a larger diameter coil so there is more wick to hold juice.

Also, using KGD I find I need to have the wick tighter on the install than with other cotton, almost to the point where it is too tight, as it tends to compress rather than expand when it is soaked.
