So I had some free time over the weekend and thought I'd try to add a personalized touch to my new REO Mini that I barely put down all weekend. I think it turned out rather nicely.

Thanks for making it!

Next up, I'll have to get the Tumbled Aluminum LP Grand and a brass door and try again :)

Oh, and if such a thing ever existed maybe a brass body? One can dream anyway.
I almost did the brass mod but the weight scared me off the idea . You would need a dolly to haul it around

Oh I'd manage. Maybe it would get me to the gym more often just so I could carry it around. Really loving it so far though. If you ever feel brassy one day, just send me an invoice and I'll pay it.

I know the brass doors can be soaked in vinegar/salt/egg/onion to force the patina but is there anyway to patina polished aluminum?
No, but you can use alcohol inks on stainless and I'd imagine aluminum well.

Mine was the brass door fumed in ammonia and a couple different kinds of salts. I didn't really time it but I'd guess around 6 hours.

I actually tried the copper vein door first but I guess there's either not enough copper embedded or it's not exposed enough to patina. Since that's just paint, I didn't want to sand it.
