Electronic cigarette retailer E Cigarette Direct calls for e-smokers to participate in research

LONDON, ENGLAND — (OfficialWire) — 05/18/09 — E-Cigarette Direct is currently holding a survey into the smoking habits of e-smokers and their experiences with common smoking problems after using the electronic cigarette.
"With a lot of help from the University of Alberta, we've constructed a survey which will hopefully give us some insight into the issues surrounding the electronic cigarette today," said James Dunworth, IT director at E Cigarette Direct. "Obviously, this doesn't replace the need for long term research into the electronic cigarette, but we believe a snapshot of e-smokers' habits and opinions will still be of great interest to researchers and the media."
After being collected, the results will be sent to the tobacco Harm Reduction Project at the University of Albama for analysis. Use of the data will also be open to all interested parties.
The survey takes between 3 and 5 minutes to complete. In order to ensure security, respondents need to enter their email address. They will then be sent a unique email link to the survey.
"After previous surveys related to the electronic cigarette have been disrupted through the use of auto-responders, we have had to be very careful," James explained. "Each person who wishes to answer the survey will be sent an email link with a unique id. This id will ensure that the survey can only be answered once. This email addresses collected will only ever be used to send surveys or to share the results of the survey with participants."
Participants may also win the prize of an electronic cigar kit.
