I was born in Saskatchewan in 1971, to a pair of immigrants from Scotland. I'm hazy as to what the rules were back then, but apparently Saskatchewan + landed immigrant from the UK + baby = dual citizenship.
I've been lucky enough to see a lot of this dirtball we live on, but even when travelling in the UK or Europe, I use my Canadian passport.
This last week, for the first time in my life, I finally had cause to pull out the British passport. Was it to get a visa? No. Was it to skip the immigration line at Heathrow? No. Was it so Australians could call me a pom? Not even.
It was to sign a petition against the upcoming nicotine ban in the UK.
vaping: what an odd and wonderful journey.
