pass thrus and cartomizers

i am only into my second week of this but i am having trouble with my pass thru and cartomizers. it seems some of the cartomizers taste burnt after only a few puffs or so. i fill up the blanks with 20 drops of e-juice but some cartomizers taste burnt. is it the five volts of the pass thru, is that too high a voltage, or am i using poor quality cartomizers?
if i am using poor quality cartomizers i am open to suggestions are what brands of blank cartomizers are good ones.

put enough drops in there to fill them up., the passthrough is a a higher voltage, if they're getting a burnt taste, you're using them too dry. could be poor quality cartos, but I doubt it. I use cheap cartos as well as good quality, and I don't ahve much of a burnt taste often (which is always my fault for vaping a carto dry).

just got an email back from shaun at litecigs and he told me at the higer voltage of the pass thru have to keep fibers in cartomizer alot wetter and more frequently top off the cartomizer.
