So I've dipped my toes into the DIY waters and started making flavors.

The main tipping point was I really like a particular liquid, "OMG" brand, liquid name "BFF". As you can guess this is a very hard combination of brand /name to find information on using Search. I'm trying to create a similar flavor because at $1/ ml, it's the first juice I've tried that's really more than I want to spend on a regular basis.

It's available mostly in B&Ms but also online a few places. Described just as "passion fruit", so I'm hoping it's a single flavor juice but no luck so far.

I have tried:

Flavor Apprentice Passion Fruit
FlavorWest Passion Fruit
FlavourArt Passion Fruit
Nature's Flavors Passion Fruit

None of these are "it". Also tried mixing in various degrees with ethyl maltol, cherry blossom, hibiscus, pomegranate, and blueberry.

TL;DR / questions
:

  1. Is anyone familiar with this specific juice, "BFF" by "OMG"?
  2. Any guesses or suggestions what to replicate it with if so?
  3. Any other Passion Fruit flavors to buy? Capella doesn't seem to have one, and I'm out of ideas now.

Thanks all!

I have been researching like you but a different fruit: Lychee.
Afaik there is no brand of Lychee/Litchi concentrat available on line that is spot on with a couple of Lychee (title of juice) that I have tried to duplicate.

So I figure there's got to be some other additives that are used by the pro's who make them.
Most fruit ejuices today that are getting lots of great reviews, are a blend too.

I do use an FA Passion Fruit with a DIY blend of tropical fruits that i really like, but along the lines of the OP, I find Hangsen, Inawera, and FA my favorite fruit concentrates...

What I'd suggest is to make the best PF mix you can, and then add 25% of the store-bought juice to your mix... it works for me!
