check out this flashlight mod i made, this is a very versitile unit, 3 AA 1.5V batteries in it, currently making 4.5V but i have found some 1.2V AA which would make 3.6V which i hear is the norm for store bought e-cig batteries. Since the batteries are everyday AA they can be found very easily and are cheap so if you bought a charger and alot of batteries there wouldnt be a second lost waiting for batteries to charge. I was checking out other battery mods people have done and they are using a single 3.7V rechargable li-ion, well, my flashlight can hold 4 3.7V li-ion, I wounder how long those would last, a week Im so glad i made this mod instead of buying useless batteries which only last me an hour of minimal/moderate vaping.

ps. im using a 84mm mini atomizer/cart/batteryconnector ripped from dead battery and the flashlight twist action for a button for now.

pics coming soon

I'm about a week into vapping and I'm a fan. However, I need to replace the 11mg menthol with something stronger and I'm interested in getting a passthrough because I'm going through 2 batteries from the JOYE501 in about 12 hours. Where does everyone go to get the higher voltage Atty's at?

Hey CCutty,
I have been smoke free for one full month now, and have been reading these forums as long, and there are alot of threads on who has the best menthol. I like Nhaler's Super Menthol, but everyone has different taste. Super Menthol is like vaping a Vick's Vapor Inhaler. I know it sounds crazy, but it's icy on the throat, and I love it. It does not have any flavor of tobacco though. Don't be afraid of upping the nic content for a little extra throat hit, but things change at HV. Lower nic content is better because the higher voltage vaporizes the nicotine better.

I don't think that there are high voltage attys. High Voltage means the atty is getting more current and operating at a higher temperature. Some atty's are said to perform better at HV, but I hear that as long as you keep them moist, 510's are just fine. Again, this is an opinion.

Pure Smoker has a sexy looking 5v pass-through in 510. I'm pretty sure you can buy regular pass-throughs from practically any company that sells 510's.

All of your questions have threads dedicated to them, and if I wasn't still a noob myself, I could figure out how to post links to them :D

Keep researching (and vaping);)

Thanks guys for your responses. There is so much info on this forum that it is very daunting when trying to figure out stuff.

No problem! It's tough being a noob and sifting through all the posts. Everyone is convinced they have the best PV and they're all passionate about why. When it comes straight down to it, they all have pro's and con's.

After a month a vaping a super mini (Volcano L88b), I've decided to go with a HV mod. I went with a Silver Bullet from Altsmoke.com because the battery lasts longer (the most common complaint with PVs), and I can change from standard 3.7v vaping to 6v vaping as easy as changing batteries. Is the Silver Bullet the best? Who knows... I like it, and that's all that matters.

The goal of all this is to stop using analogs, and my cheap little Volcano helped me with that. So really, it was just as effective as any expensive HV mod out there ;)
