Paypal changes to Japanese on checkout!

I was very disappointed when I tried to checkout (after 2 days of agonizing over my purchases) and Paypal changed to Japanese - which I can't read, except the basics. Why would I shop in English and then fill in all my details in Japanese? Last time I ordered it was all in English, and any other places I shop from for eg. eBay or DealExtreme or whatever... my checkout remains in English.
Now I have to find somebody JAPANESE to help me checkout . VERY upset.
Please realize that expats live all over the world, and just because I am in Japan or Saudi Arabia or Israel, does NOT mean I want to check out in a foreign language.

Edit: OK, several hours later I manage to get someone Japanese to help me checkout, but it turns out it was CHINESE - no wonder I couldn't read a single word (as it was all Chinese to me hehe). Anyway I got it worked out in the end, but wonder how other people manage to check out in Chinese?

i am sorry that i can not reply to you earlier.

as for the problem with paypal in Japanese, i think, it may has something to do with your location. if you are leaded to a Japanese paypal, please look for an option about other languages at the top right corner in the page. you can choose English there.

please try and let me know whether it works.

Newsunshine, you might want to raise a ticket with paypal on this. Since I haven't seen anyone from a Western country complain about this, I think its something that only effects your Asian customers.

yes. it is a paypal problem, and we are trying to fix it after our holiday.
