Most nut allergies are due to a protein in either the nut or the oil. I don't think that peanut flavoring contains any actual peanut ingredients. Similar to how lots if amaretto flavors don't actually have almond in it. Perhaps there are extracted flavors out there that may contain actual peanuts but I haven't ever seen any.
I actually just asked Heather from HHV this the other day, since I was vaping Java Smooth and I wanted my girlfriend to try it, but it definitely has a nutty taste to it, and my girlfriend has a deadly allergy to peanuts. Anyway, Heather said it was naturally extracted and it probably wasn't a good idea. So at least with HHV stuff it IS natural, and probably DOES has the protein or whatever that makes it allergic to people. Don't know about other vendors though.
I agree. It'd be safe to stay away from juice makers who specialize in NET type flavors if there is an allergy issue. I would bet that any reputable vendor would be more than happy to answer an allergen question via email.
I am allergic to tree nuts, but haven't had a problem with coconut flavors. I tend to just steer clear of anything but-flavored out of habit though.
From my experience flavors can be used by people with allergies or diabetes. Extracts may be a different story. I would recommend contacting the vendor. Imagine never being able to taste peanut butter and having it for the first time in a Vape?!? It must be an amazing sensation. So many food allergies out there. This topic may be something that needs more attention.
