Wood--the general thoughts are in the vaping world is that PEG is not as "clean" as PG of VG---but I do not know where that came from. Glad to help.

Sun!

Yeah I read alot re opinions of it, but nothing to convince me not to try it. May be just right for what want, just have to test it for myself. Hey they are fast to the reply....said "no unflavored peg". darn it. Thanks for your help though.

Thanks SUN, didnt see peg there just "pv" liquid (?), never heard pv term re liquid before. I am looking for some peg for partial base for diy mix.
The last thing you want to do is use PEG as a base in anything you vape. PEG is a woodworking product and is not to be confused with PG.

According to the CDC (link):
Your health is not likely to be seriously affected by the very small amounts of ethylene glycol that could be tasted or otherwise accidentally eaten (for example, by putting your fingers in your mouth after getting them wet with antifreeze). Accidental or intentional ingestion of larger amounts of ethylene glycol can cause serious illness or death.

Some other facts... PEG has a higher boiling point, sweeter taste, and is a larger molecule than PG. It is also more toxic in large amounts than PG. I doubt if vaping is enough to be dangerous because it metabolizes through the body quickly, but I haven't heard much about it.

@woodman- Why do you want to use PEG instead of VG/PG?

Ah Switched, it was the really really large red font that made me do it.

I had seen references to PEG vaping before and just figured it wasn't for me (still feel that way). It wasn't until I ran across the bottle of PEG crystals in the cabinet that I even knew the use. :)
I guess if you mixed with distilled water you could vape it. You go first, LOL.

Some don't like VG, some don't like PG, a lot of folks didn't like the BeeGees, I don't think I like PEG. But if all this stuff has so many "good" human uses, unlike tobacco, we should be as informed as possible. If not someone in the Govmt just might lie to us.

Ya think?

Rocket
(sorry to have picked your post, and no way you could have gotten a font like that for just 2 cents :))

PEG (Polyethylene Glycol - which is NOT ethylene glycol, the antifreeze poison) is not "A" compound, it is a whole family of polymers (plastics) that range in weight from 300 g/mol to 10,000,000 g/mol and can be created in many molecularly diverse forms, as well. Quite a large family!

Uses include, as Switched stated, in woodworking. It is used as a preservative, often for sunken ships raised from the water.

Uses also include:

laxatives, skin creams, "personal" lubricants, pre-surgical bowel prep, spinal cord healing, tumor imaging, in toothpastes, as the carrier in HP designjet ink, in paintball balls, in eye drops, in gene therapy, and others. See Polyethylene glycol - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So, I ask the OP, *which* PEG are you looking for? ;)

Good info SJohnson. When Johnson Creek pulled there VG blend in the Summer of 09', many VG users scrambed to find other sources as only a half a dozen or so Suppliers sold VG and many where out. PEG came into play as a option. Why now the OP is looking to use it may be for allergic reasons, but I do not know.

I have been looking for a US supplier of PEG also...Back when "Nuvape" carried it, that's all I bought. It is the only liquid that I don't get phlegm/wheezing/ or hives from...

I used it for 5 months straight and stopped using it only b/c my eyes got really dry..That was 6 months ago now. I wanted to buy it again (unflavored) and add my own menthol drops to it to avoid all the other artificial flavorings..

TW US is suppose to be getting some in soon but its held up in customs right now..I would just keep checking their site until it is listed...
