First off let me say that I am ammazed at the quality of this device and the outstanding performance.I absolutely love it.I purchased it from COV and the shipping was very fast.It arrived fully asembled and was very easy (up to a point) to take apart and build.I was really suprized at the easy of use even for totaly new user such as myself. After getting past a small glitch I was able to produce my 1st ever coil and wick assembly and was so thrilled that I called my wife into the room to see what I had done.LOL..like a kid at Christmas I was.So anyway,I'll get to the glitch.

When I started taking it apart I noticed that the wire retaining nut on the positive post was not all the way on the post.I knew from watching Scott's video several times that it should be easy to loosen and tighten. He does mention that some of the threads can be a bit tight at 1st so I expected that. What I did not expect was to find that the nut had been cross threaded on befor being packaged.I tried to removed it and it wouldnt budge.I thought for a min and wondered if I should go any further or maybe just email someone and see if I could return it for another since it came this way to me.I decided since it would take a bit of time to do this I would go ahead and try to get it past the point that it was stuck. It took a pair of pliers to get it started.Actually it took 2 pair. One to hold the plate that it bottoms out on and one to move the nut.I didnt want to force it hard so I just gave a bit of even pressure in one direction then the other, and after a bit of coaxing it moved a bit.The more I went back and forth with it the more it moved untill I could finally get it to bottom out. When i tried to remove it using only my fingers,it would not budge. So again with the pliers. When it did begin to back off I just kept working it back and forth along the length of the post untill it started working more freely. So,I now have it working in a useable fashion but Im a bit sad that it was cross threaded, afterall it is such a fine device that more care should have been taken. But water under the bridge at this point, afterall we are only human. My only problem now is ..LOL..its in the back of my mind.Ill be wondering if that nut and post are gonna fail me at some point. So,I'm wondering if there is a way for me to purchase a repacement nut and post just to ease my mind a bit.PLEASE,dont take this in anyway negative,as I really am ammazed at the time and effort that Imeo has put into developing this device.I am astounded by the ease of use for the 1st timer such as myself, and I realy love it.

thanks for any assistance
Bucky

LOL..(redfaced here)..call me Mr Uniformed...I just went to the Penelope wiki, and this is what I found

27.- The center pin is brass-nickel plated. More nickel that the apropriate covered the brass pin, so the lower nut that keeps positive wire in place doesnt screw all the way down to keep wire in place. So please screw-unscrew with pliers the nut 2-3 times and it will be like butter

All gooder now...:)
