penstyle atomizer problems

I bought a Puresmoker penstyle with 2 extra atomizers and I've had a bad experience with all 3. The first one leaked so bad that I had to use a tissue with it to keep the juice from getting all over the place.

After going through way too much juice with the leaky att I switched to att #2. The carts fit very loose and the draw was so bad I think I actually popped my eardrum sucking on it.

I hesitantly switched to att #3. I say hesitantly because at this point I was thinking it might explode since #'s 1&2 were so bad. I was pleasantly surprised that it worked fairly well...for 2 whole days. Now it is dead as a doornail.

So...any advice? Is there a way to fix a leaky atomizer? Is there a way to fix loose carts/horrible draw? Could atomizer #3 be flooded and, if so, is there a fix for that like a good cleaning? I'm at my wit's end here.

Pam--sounds like you are using way to much e-liquid in your cartridges--as for loose cartridges--there is a good video here by Terraphon showing you how to take a pin and heat it up and place 4 burn marks at the noon, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions--which causes the plastic to bump and gives a nice tight fit---Sun

Thanks, I'll try to find that video. I may have had too much liquid in the third one that died but I don't think that was the problem with the leaky one. I was only adding a drop or two when it was dry and it would still leak. It leaked with prefilled carts, too.

Oh, and to clarify about the leaking-it doesn't leak at the cart it leaks at the bottom at the little seam near the battery. It doesn't appear to be loose though.

Pam--that is because there is 4 holes under the plastic rim (you need a magnifing glass to see them) but you sould not be getting e-liquid out of there. There is to much e-liquid in the cartridge and the wick is overloaded. Try taking the cartridge out and vaping it with the orignal tip that came with it till it drys out ---Sun

Thanks, Sun, I'll try that. I'm so frustrated because I had another penstyle before this one and loved it. Actually, I'm still using that one after 6 weeks with no problems-just a little weak vapor-wise now.

FYI, I have a couple loose penstyle atomizers too (where the cart slips in and out a little too easily, or just plops out if I turn it over).

All I do is put the loose cart in as usual, then stick a small piece of scotch-tape around the seam (where the cart fits into the top). It just takes a couple seconds.

Did your loose ones have draw problems? If so, did the tape fix that too? I don't mind the looseness as much as the fact that the draw is so bad. I thought the looseness was probably causing the draw problems. I'll try the tape and see if it helps with the draw.

To everyone-Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it. I'm leaving in a few weeks for a month-long road trip and I had hoped to have my e-cigs running smoothly with plenty of back-ups by then. I got a penstyle pass-through yesterday and have a battery pack ordered to help with long days on the road but now all my penstyle atomizers are sucking so bad I could cry.
