This may have been covered here but a quick search didn't come up with my problem.

I have used several vendors for unflavored nic and when I mix I get a peppery nic taste and feel in my mouth and throat.

I am using 48mg unflavored in PG cutting down to 20 mg with vg and PG to a 60/40 ratio. 10% flavor

I have mixed using several flavors from different companies.

Initially I have a strong TH and peppery taste. After steeping for a week the TH is less and the peppery taste is less but still there.

My question is why do I have this in my DIY and I don't experience this in juices I buy from suppliers?

Several of my suppliers mix right before shipping so they only have a 2-3 day steep before I get them.

I am at a loss and getting very frustrated with DIY.

Anyone have any advice or information that might be helpful?

haven't encountered any peppery tasty yet but I've not tried many tobacco juices other than the one from tasty vapor and I like it. I bought a box mod a few weeks ago and the guy sent me a bottle of 36mg tobacco.. smells and tastes a bit like play dough! smells just like it! doesn't taste bad when I add some capellas vanilla custard though LOL

Peppery means to me too much nic. Try diluting with VG.

Nic does cause the peppery taste, but it doesn't necessarily mean too much of it. I vape at 18mg. If I vape unflavored, the nic taste is extremely strong for me, at least sometimes. It varies, though, according to who-knows-what. Mostly, I vape a simple DIY mix and sometimes (from the same batch or even carto) the peppery taste is strong and sometimes I don't taste it at all.

Some flavors mask it better than others, too. There are a few recipes which use the same nic level, but I never taste the peppery in them.

I should compile a list of the flavors that mask it and the flavors that bring it out. Hmmm...
