I am in that category. I am looking for NIC with the least amount of peppery

You're in luck, most of the posts I've been reading are reporting none or very little of the peppery taste (various suppliers). That's what's leading some of us to see if we can find some lol. For what it's worth, I don't get any from my RTS nic, but there's other suppliers that don't have it as well.

I am just starting out with DIY and am planning on primarily making tobacco based liquids, pipe tobacco cigars, flavored cigars, flavored pipe tobaccos, etc., and have been on the fence about peppery nicotine. I think I'd rather have purely tasteless nicotine and add my own peppery throat hit with an additive so I can better control the complete flavor profile. I ordered some 36mg PG nic from myfreedomsmokes and will be mixing later this month when all my flavors come in.

It doesn't seem to be the same though. When we say peppery taste, it more referring to the taste of black pepper and not the heat. The th still comes from the nic and it has a very slight difference. The only words I can think of here is 'it's more smooth some way' but I'm not sure if that even makes sense lol.

I really like the th from a little vodka or pga, but I can't vape it more than a few hours without it taking my throat out. ymmv and all that. :vapor:

Sounds like we need to petion for some suppliers to source it special for us. They could get all our business.

Maybe we need Hoosier to help us out. Or enlighten us...

I doubt if they could even if they wanted too. I think it's a matter of the producers going to a different process but I could be wrong about that.

Yeal, where's Hoosier when we need him???? :vapor:

Just an mfs update... I tried it in drip mode on the oddy and with a heavily saturated wick I did get a serious TH from the 36mg. I may have had a slightly dry wick causeing me to get low TH. I taste the nic, its good, but not peppery at any rate.

When the wick normalizes back to regular vaper try increasing the voltage if you have a VB. That may increase the TH.

I'm Glad to see this post. I normally order from Wizard and was used to a good clean Nic smell (as in no smell or little enough smell to have ever notice)

While in a stockpiling frenzy, I ordered some NIC from MFS....and the smell is just plain nasty. I would like to hear more about this. In my way of thinking, It may not be processed as well as Wizards is. This statement is a total uneducated guess on my part.

Please chime in some more everyone. :pop:

I would chime in some more except I don't know any more. My first order of nic from RTS had a slight odor at 100mg. Mixed down to 24mg, I couldn't detect any odor, but it had a slight black pepper taste that I liked. Since then, all following orders, regardless of where they're from, have been virtually odorless and no peppery taste.

I'd shoot an e-mail to MFS. At least give them a chance to make good.

Edit: Post number 2 in this thread has a link to a good thread on the subject. It's not that old so you might get some current info on the last of it.

As I mentioned earlier, the 100mg I got from MFS developed a hard-core smell that worried me. Once mixed down and vaped tho there was no hint of that smell. I now keep it in a freezer and the smell has gone.

Thank you everyone for thoughts and opinions. It seems maybe the pepper isn't too popular.

I suppose I could go from my regular 18mgs up to 24 for more nicotine and see if that satisfies what I ask looking for?

I can also try the couple vendors mentioned in smaller amounts to see how I like them.

I have MFS 36mg nic in 100% PG purchased 15 months ago. It has no smell at all as of today. I divided it into 30ml brown bottles and store in the fridge mixing my juice to 12mg usually or 18mg on occasion and, if anything, its not peppery enough for me but I'm happy with it. I was a noob when I bought it and was afraid of working with nic but I think I'm going to give WL in a much higher strength a try on my next order just hearing about it being so "clean" as it will be a long time before I use it.

Definitely try the Wizard Labs nic, if you can. Out of several suppliers of great clean n clear nic, I've found only them to have a Fullness or Substance when I vape it.

I just mixed the two together and the peppery taste is completely gone but the throat hit is good at 65vg/35pg/18mg. I am getting a metalic taste which is due to my freshly rebuilt T3 coil so I'll vape this a while until the coil breaks in and report back if there's any other odd tastes.

After some time vaping The peppery taste is completely gone but the throat hit was a bit strong for my usual 18mg vape. I remixed my base to 14mg and it is now perfect. At 65vg/35pg/14mg delivers the perfect throat hit and no after taste what so ever. This base should produce a truer flavor. Funny thing is I would have expected a sweeter vaper from the heaver VG but the taste is a completely neutral taste.
