Not sure if anyone has figured out a formula (if any) of % of VG/PG causing more or less flavour and the chances of cotton burning at a faster rate? Any correlation at all? Or am I just totally insane?
I don't think there is. For some tanks perhaps the more vg and therefore the thicker the juice may cause some wicking issues.
Pg is said to be a better carrier of flavour.

Yes, totally agree that PG give better flavour.... I've experienced certain types of flavours, like some coffee, and cake flavours do gunk up my SS coils more and hence the cottons need to be replaced the following day... and some other juices, like my Nana Creams are good for like 4 to 5 days... I usually operate at between 0.18 - 0.25 ohms if that helps.
well I guess because of the gunkiness (if there's such a word) that I begin to get burnt hits...instead of dry hits... and then this awful taste...this happens when I do "long drags"...short drags are fine...I can still feel and taste the e-juice, but once I take long drags, during the middle and ending of the drag I kinda taste the dry-burnt smell which is really bad. and I'm concerned for my health too that inhaling this is not good at all... this is also a reason why I was thinking of going regulated mods to prevent dry-hits...or is my logic not correct at all??
Cotton will burn if not properly saturated with juice.
Vg wicks more slowly due the it's thickness. To compensate for slower wicking I find that reducing airflow draws more juice into the wick.
Too high a wattage setting and/or long draws will burn cotton even with good wicking
Pg is a 'better' flavor carrier than Vg.
IMHO factory built coil heads are trash and yes trash will burn.

That's an interesting thought that reducing airflow will draw more juice...hmmm...lemme try that a bit and will let you know how it works out...hmmm.... But I'm the kinda vaper that likes a really good flow; especially when inhaling a long drag...haha .... with more restrictive inhales, it kinda hurts my chest cause I have to use more physical strength...not sure if anyone has the same experience? hmmm.
Burnt tasting vapes are a Bad Thing. Story is that Formaldehyde may be a constituent of the burnt taste.
You might be well advised to check out a forum that is specific to your PV for suggestions on coil build and wicking for that specific device.
this conversation lends itself to a question of flavoring as opposed to the VG/PG and I believe what you are experiencing is sugar burn whick is the sweetener prematurely caramelizing it happens a lot in custards and ry4 variants ive run into this quite a few times with different juices; example Deadly Sin has a sucralose type sweetener in it as to where POPstar has a sugar based sweetener, How did I conclude this you ask I do work for a research lab in the water treatment industry and tested two of my favorites. popstar is like a tootsie rool and salted caramel and deadly is cinnamon toast crunch now if I am vaping popstar I will change cotton at least every other day to stop the burn but on deadly I can vape for at least 5 -6 days. So there ya go hope this helps you. and again most of this is m y opinion and what I saw on an independent lab evaluation of my two favs.
