I'm on a quest for my perfect menthol. I've tried more than half a dozen different types from different vendors, and have more on the way, but thought I'd ask in here.

Wants:
  • Strong menthol flavor
  • Just a hint - a whisper - of sweet
  • Super strong menthol flavor
  • No tobacco flavor at all
  • Menthol flavor that kicks my tonsils down my throat and screams MENTHOL!
I almost found it in a sampler of menthol FreedomSmokes sent me with an order, but they don't know which of their varieties it was, and it had way more than a "whisper" of sweet to it. It was great first thing in the morning, but as the day wore on the menthol flavor diminished and the sweet became cloying.

I've found I don't want what most people consider throat hit - that burning sensation - but I do want to feel something, and the cooling freshness of menthol seems to hit me perfectly. I was never a menthol smoker of cigarettes, but for vaping it's my perfect match.

FWIW, I've also ordered unflavored PG and VG, along with some menthol crystals, to see if I can make my perfect menthol myself. A little VG for sweet and vapor, PG for the main carrier. The stuff hasn't gotten here yet.

I was a menthol smoker and I ONLY love menthol juices. Try Re(4)nu Menthol and Honey Wood Menthol from USA Made Vapor Renu. For the price, you can't beat it to try them out. If you want to "sweeten" a juice, just order some Cotton Candy from any vendor. I've been putting it in my "tobacco menthol" flavored juices in little batches at a time and it's perfect! For me, taste is way more important than throat hit, but I can tell you, you can FEEL the menthol in the Honey Wood Menthol, it's soooooooooooooooo good! Be careful with the menthol crystals, a very tiny bit goes a long way.

I've never heard of Puresmoker. Their menthol is like this?

They have a Tonic line that is wonderful. The Silver leaf Menthol is tobacco-ish (light on the tobacco). Their minthia is a very strong menthol flavor. I avoid sweet like the plague, so no, I do not think it is sweet. Definitely worth a try. Their Peach menthol is also good, but very fruity. Not exactly sweet and the menthol is more subtle. Arctic Ice type flavors may also suit your taste.

For full on menthol with a hint of sweet and no tobacco, you could try VaporRenu Menthol (double shot) and add a couple drops of some kind of mint or bubble gum. Right now I'm experimenting with the right amount of Wintergreen or Spearmint to add to get that perfect vape. (I thought I'd love mint because I love menthol but they - Spearmint and Wintergreen type flavors - remind me too much of toothpaste. )

I get the full-on throat cooling and I'm-for-sure-vaping-menthol from the Clove Menthol or Havana Menthol from VaporRenu. The latter, at first, came off as weirdly floral to me but I impatiently let it steep at least a week now and am on my third order. Not sure it's everyone's taste because I think we menthol lovers are a picky bunch but I get antsy when my bottle is half full. I'd describe it as a bright menthol with a mysterious, light, high note. Its supposed to be Havana Cigar but I taste no tobacco and I would since I'm not fond of the way it dulls menthol. And, the clove in the Clove Menthol is the spice flavor, not a clove cigarette or Kretek clone. Its an aggressive flavor and, again, I can't tell if its really awesome or if I just have weird taste but I'm never without it.

I may check out the Puresmoker menthol mentioned but VaporRenu sends out fresh, custom-made juices quickly and for a price that can't be beat.

Wherever you get or make your menthol eliquid I'd suggest letting it steep before handling it a whole lot. Fresh menthol is STRONG stuff that'll affect your eyes, you'll feel it cool your skin, etc. I try to keep up with my juice orders so they all get a chance to steep at least four to five days once I get them (and that period is taking the amount of time it spent in transit - usually two or three days).

I make my own menthols I use 30ml of Vaporrenu's Re4nu, 30ml of caramel, cheapy menthol from V4L( had to do something with it) I can put exactly how much sweet and how much cool I wwant in it. After mixing the re4nu and caramel together I put it in little bottles then I mix different amounts of menthol with it in different bottles that way I can have really cool or just a little cool. The re4nu gives a slight mapley flavor when mixed with caramel and it is a bit sweet. I dont like most premixed tobacco/menthol blends so If I buy a huge bottle of any old menthol and then I can mix it with strawberry, blueberry, tobacco, or vanilla.
