Hey guys,

 I've been sick for about a year and a half now (have been vaping for 2 years), and I wonder if it has to do with vaping - and if so, what can I do to heal while continuing vaping.

I have been sniffling for 1 1/2 year. It's not a full-on cold - it's more like that annoying sniffling when you're about to get a cold. My coworkers keep asking me, "Are you sick?" Along with that, my throat is irritated (for maybe half a year) - it's like it's covered in mucus and I have to keep clearing it all the time (going "uhr-uhr" and swallowing repeatedly). My friend Rob, who I've introduced to vaping, keeps making "uhr-uhr" all the time too.

- Could it be one of the ingredients? Too much nicotine maybe? Or the PG? I did some quick research, but I don't have the systoms of PG sensitivity: no hives, no red eyes, no itchy skin.

- Could it be the cleanliness (or lack of) of my juices or clearomizers? I've been cleaning my clearos once a week lately (just a good hot water rinse), but before I vaped on a clearo until I had to replace it.

Any other ideas? Anyone else has these symtoms?

Thanks,
milazinha

I noticed I have been more sensitive or maybe more aware of allergies since I started vaping. I had similar symptoms as you are having and change from 75% pg to a 50/50 mix and reduced my nic level to 18mg ( was 24mg ). I take a Zirtech ( actually a generic version ) at the first hint of sinus problems or a runny nose. In the fall if I can smell the rotting leaves I take one immediately to head it off. You should consult your doctor if this continues. :2c:

For starters, you've been sick for a year and a half?? Have you been to the doctor? (I see you're in the US, so I understand if you can't afford to go to the doctor over a minor issue...)

I agree that it might be allergies. Sometimes at a certain age you just start having allergies almost year-round. You could try taking allergy medicine and see if it helps. Also, have you moved recently? There may be something in the apartment that's causing your irritation, or if you just moved from the country to the city you could be having some irritation from pollution.

It sounds like you're doing a good job keeping your clearos clean. You might wanna try switching to full VG and bringing down the nicotine just a little. PG can dry out your throat so it might be making your problem worse, this happens to a lot of people (the symptoms you describe of PG sensitivity are more of an allergic-type reaction, they're less common).

Good luck and keep us posted! :)

Thank you so much everyone. I did go to the doctor, but you know how useless doctors often are. :p

I've even taken antibiotics, to no result.

The allergy idea makes sense. Today I bought allergy medicine + a decongestant; crossing fingers that it will work.

And just in case, I've retired all of my 18mg e-juices, keeping only nic levels below that. 18 is too harsh for me anyway.

Cheers!
