[h=5]Right now there's almost a mortal combat going on between proponents of using the e-cigarette to reduce harm from smoking lethal tobacco cigarettes (my doctor included) and other "scientist-types" who are out to eradicate anything that looks like smoking. These "scientist-types" might lose their jobs if using e-cigs overcomes using tobacco, since there would no longer be any use for them (in their high-paying jobs) and their organizations (such as the American Lung Association). Thus they continue to promote only government-approved (and pharmaceutical-company producing) smoking cessation products such as gums, patches and (as advertised) suicide-inducing Chantix, which don't work as well as e-cigs. It seems pretty apparent that organizations like the American Lung Association are basically in cohoots with the pharmaceutical companies and are resolutely refusing to acknowledge the benefits of using e-cigs as an alternative to smoking, much to the detriment of the public health.[/h]
