I have been vaping since 11/15/13 and have tried a ton of liquids from a ton of different companies. Does anybody else get the feeling and/or taste of plastic in their mouth?? I know taste is subjective but I would like to know others opinions and solutions. If I knew which of the ingredients cause this taste, I could adjust accordingly. My current rotation is anywhere between 6-12 mg nicotine and ratios of 50/50, and 40/60. I use my MVP2 with mini PT2 tanks and vape around 8 watts.

Thank you in advance for your help!!!!

The mini PT2 tanks I am using have been in use since November....from my original setup. They have been washed and soaked and dryburned as appropriate. I rebuilt the coil (2.0 currently) and the insulator gasket shows no signs of melting or burning. Current juice is Steam Co. Peach N Berry which is packaged in glass bottles. I can't say it tastes burnt - to me, burnt taste is like um, charcoal - burnt toast, burnt bacon.

I will try vaping with my MVP at 6 watts and see if I notice a difference. For some reason, it vaping seems confusing...so many variables. I will not go back to analogs....*GAG*!!! I just don't like this plasticky taste/feeling and I can't figure out the cause.

I truly appreciate all your opinions and suggestions!!! You guys are the experts and I love this community!!!!!

..and it might just be your own perspective. My wife says her strawberry juice tastes burnt at 7 watts.. and I'm using her APV to try it and I'm like.. "Urm.. It tastes great!!???" Dialed her down to 4.5 watts and she's happy..???

You're not trying to understand women now, are you, lol?

I DIY and always check what my base tastes like before I start adding flavoring. PG tastes plasticy to me. If you're only using premixed, the vendor should be modifying their recipe to make it taste good a various PG/VG levels. I would say you're one of the unfortunates, like myself, who is particularly sensitive to that PG taste. One solution is, of course, to go higher on VG but some have trouble with too much of it... (heavy feeling in the lungs if lung inhaling) so another solution is to buy some concentrated flavoring that will go with the premixed and try to add enough of it to mask that PG taste. If you like menthol, it masks it pretty well as does cinnamon. But, be careful with cinnamon as it can give a killer TH. Its one of those "a little bit'l do ya.)

I found out what my problem was - cotton wicking!! *sighs* Was really hoping cotton would work and I am very disappointed that cotton alters the taste for me :(

I've been using 100% cotton yarn (peaches n cream) to replace the flavor wick after dry burning, and I've found that although when the juice FULLY wicks into the cotton, it tastes GREAT, when it doesn't, it tastes nasty, and I'm sick of having to take priming hits to suck the juice into the cotton, before I can take a hit. So I'm going to order some silica to use instead, like the silica that comes in new ones.

In fact, I just did order it. Cotton may give a good taste when it completely absorbs the juice, but getting it to completely absorb is too slow for an impatient person like moi. :D

I use my protanks daily... with cotton rebuilds. I never get the "plasticky" flavor. I do saturate the cotton completely. I tried the Peaches N Cream cotton yarn, but I wasn't impressed... went back to my balls. I generally build my coils around 1.8 and fire my MVP between 8.5-9.5 watts. And my juice is always atleast 50/50... usually higher on the vg.
Saturate that cotton!! The juices I got from MBV had a flavor that I didn't like, but I wouldn't classify it at 'plasticky'...

I really wish I could handle cotton balls!! I have some kangertech coils and some I rebuilt with cotton ball wicking. I tested several juices with both coils, always saturating and letting sit for 15 minutes prior to vaping. The cotton lost each time. :( I will say that Peppermint Pattie by The Vapor Chef tasted fine on my IGO-L dripper with cotton. It must be the mint!

Thank you everyone for your help, suggestions and opinions!! It is SOOOOO very much appreciated!
