PG smells like nail polish remover

I know there was a thread about this recently but the only one I found was a closed thread so I will ask again. So for PG all I have ever used is wizard labs. thats all I buy really from them anymore. I never really gave much thought to PG being different than any other. I have been putting more orders in with Bull City. I have gone on and on about those guys in other threads so I'll spare you guys on my long winded love for Bull City. anyways decided what the heck I will try the PG they offer. only 2.50 for 120 mls if it sucks or its the same oh well its only 2 bucks.I got it in and did a comparison to my WL labs PG. I'll add my PG is always fresh the only thing I buy in bulk is nic, FA jamaican rum and Caps custard lol. otherwise I buy PG and VG 120-250 is mls at a time so I know its fresh. Im sure it doesn't matter and everyone buys it buy the liter or gallon but it makes me feel better so thats that. In the past I noticed a faint scent in my PG but never gave it any thought because I have never smelled PG before that so how could I compare it anyways. last night I opened my bull city PG and gave it wiff. nothing. no smell. not even the plastic bottle lol. then I grabbed my WL PG. and smelled it. it hit me like a truck. nail polish remover . smelled the bull city and back to the WL and sure enough it really smells a lot when you have something next to it to compare to. just in your kitchen with only a bottle of WL PG and nothing else you might say its "odorless" but when you have something to compare it to its certainly not. has anyone else noticed this? I guess I could have a bad bottle but it taste and vapes and smells as it always does. Im not sure where bull city gets their PG but looks like they just picked up more of my business. guess I better try the VG also.

My experience with Bull City Vapors, on Inawera flavors, has been very positive (they seem to be the only USA vendor that sells Inawera in original bottles). I am so glad you mentioned their PG, i will give it a try. I haven't purchased PG from Wizard Labs so I can't comment on it, however before I was DIying I purchased some e-liquids from a big and very popular manufacturer, they were 80pg and 20 pg and they smelled like acetone (who knows if bad PG was responsible for it?) I think I also will try Bull City's nicotine extract, and if it is good i think they will get most of my business from now on.

I've only made one order from WL (PG/VG/Nic) ...the first thing I noticed was my tried and true mixes tasted horrible. I didn't know which of the three ingredients were the culprit. I tasted the VG and it tasted like some sort of artificial sweetener and left an unpleasant aftertaste. I made 3 or 4 test batches with the nic from 18mg down to 6mg, they all had a nasty metallic taste that lessened in line with Nic (mg) strength.

I just compared the smell of my WL PG with that of my MFS PG...the MFS is odorless, there is a faint smell to the WL PG, can't say that it smells like nail polish...anyway I just gave away 250mls of WL nic...I still have my WL PG/VG but don't anticipate using it unless there's an emergency.

ya man they have impressed me alot. The inawera thing is the coolest. comes in the original boxes and everything . when they get FA its on lol. I like the prices especially on the sample sizes. on point with everyone or cheaper. I dont really see much about PG and VG other than the normal topics. essential depot is another one I want to try for PG and VG now. heard good things about them also. if you try the nic let everyone know.

I happened to have three bottles of WL PG bought over the past 3 months, or so. Two were already opened and the third was still sealed. I cannot seem to detect any odor from any of the three bottles.

Googleing for Propylene Glycol MSDS finds several threads - all pretty much say the same thing: "PG is a colorless, odorless liquid. It is soluble to various extents in a wide range of organic materials, and is completely soluble in water".

My thoughts...
A. You got a bad batch.
B, Somehow yours has become contaminated

I'll be glad to go find my batch numbers...

I guess I should rephrase the hit like a truck comment. its not like huffing nail polish remover but thats the smell and its very clear there is a very big difference in the 2 when compared. thanks everyone for the input.

Can you contact WL and discuss this? You have the lot number and they can track it down and proceed from there.

Doing so would help others of us WL customers, and vapers in general.

Im not sure its worth investigating anymore for me anyways. was trying to see what others have experienced as far as different PG brands. I have gone through alot of different bottles of PG from WL and everyone is exactly the same the more I think about it. good quality control, every bottle is exactly the same thats why I used them for that this whole time.. I never thought it has much scent but like I said I havent gone around smelling PG either. blueser described it as metalicy and I would agree with that now that I have something to compare. when compared there is a very distinct difference. dont want anyone to take this as a bash WL because it is most certainly not just looking for everyones input to see if others have noticed this

I picked up a gallon of PG locally and it tasted horribly of plastic...I never thought to give it a sniff test until after the first couple pulls on a full tank of a new mix. Couldn't figure out what was wrong--changed coil..same result. Hmm...I Grabbed the bottle of PG and gave it a deep sniff--yukk..yes it smelled like plastic.

Dumped it out in the yard.

I always give all my liqs the sniff test now.

I use Essential Depot like the majority of commercial juice makers. There is nothing better PERIOD and while nic is debatable all those other guys by their PG/VG from distributors like ED. The very reason WL cost more for PG/VG is they too buy it from ED or similar as it's only sold to places like ED by tanker load.

This thread had me hunt for some expired pg I did find some. Expired 12/1/13. Absolutely no odor. WL needs to look into this. This is not good.

maybe I will send them an email. I actually just dumped about 150 mls of it at least. figured I will never vape it anymore since the other one is so much better. I save the bottles tho so I still have the batch number on it. just didnt want to seem like "that guy" looking for something free ya know. but I guess I should at least let them know. it didnt expire until around this time next year. all my stuff is very clean. I am very OCD about stuff so I am positive its not cross contamination or anything it just had to be the PG .

If there is a strong odor. I think they should know. I've had bad pg before, and it's not a wonderful feeling. Feels like bugs crawling on your skin, and muscle spasms.

Me, too. I find something at a cheaper price than the last place I tried, and immediately find a thread that may give a clue as to why.

I ordered from WL on Thursday, but found the ED site tonight. If I can scrape up the money, I'll be purchasing ED's Gallon deal before the weekend is up.
