PG/VG Blend....huh?!

propylene glycol= throat hit, very thin liquid
vegetable glycerin= thick vapor with a hint of sweetness, very thick liquid
the most common blend to start with is around 70/30, just the right amount of vapor and throat hit. and adjust to taste so to speak.

70/30, 60/40 etc
the first number is almost always PG the second is VG

From my personal experience, liquids that are high in PG taste awful.
They do have a very strong throat hit, but that's definitely not a selling point for me.

Keep in mind, though, liquids that are high in VG are much thicker and harder to wick. You may experience dry hits if your device can't handle the thicker fluid. IMHO, 50/50 blends are a good place to start. From there, you can experiment with different blends and see which you prefer.
