Hi All,

I've been smokeless for almost 4 weeks now and these last days I do cough a lot when I vape, I do find that I vape a lot.
During day @ work I use 2ml and during the evening @ home an extra 2 to 3 ml.
I use the 11-12 mg liquids and the coughing started when I started using some pg-vg mixed liquids.
Before I used only pg liquids. Could that be a reason for that cough?

thx

Danny

It could be any of several factors.
I never coughed with 100% vg. Lately I have been vaping juices with different levels of pg & I have been coughing a little.
Some folks have problems vaping certain flavors.
The best thing for you is to do some experimenting. Try some unflavored nic juice.
Let us know what you discover.

Jumping in on this because I had a similar question. I have some friends that smoke only the VG because they said it is healthier than the PG? I haven't had a chance to really look into that yet, but was wanting some opinions on that. I found that the thicker VG messed up my clearomizer a little, it started leaking from the contact onto the battery, which got so frustrating having to stop and clean it out. Once I got rid of the juice and cleaned out my clearomizer and went back to a blend it stopped leaking.

Not sure what I am really wanting to ask.. guess just wondering if the VG is really better or if the PG is just as good and how to use VG with a clearomizer. (it happened to both the clearomizers I had but the blend was fine)

Off to work so will check back later.

I agree with the guys saying it may just be your lungs getting rid of the rubbish accumulated after years of smoking.

A few years back I took a course of Zyban to quit smoking which I did...I was smoke free for just over 6 months, after about 4 weeks or so of being smoke free I felt terrible...like I had a really bad cold and cough...I stuck with it and after a week or two I felt great...my wifes a nurse and she said it was more than likely it was just all those built up toxins come out my body.

Exactly, it's not that I'm coughing up things, it's a dry cough and sore throuth when I take a big vape in. Just like if I were sick

PG certainly does make your mouth and throat dry, I've seen a lot of mentions of the importance of staying hydrated while vaping. A more experienced user than I could probably comment in more detail, but I think propylene glycols hygroscopic (water-bonding) property is actually an essential function of e-cigs: a lot of the vapor exhaled is probably water taken from your body. This has been my observation anyway, with PVs and with minimal use of medicine inhalers (which also use PG) in the past: the amount of vapor on the exhale appears to be greater than the amount coming out of the device itself.

Ok but it started when I started using VG mixed liquids... I ordered the dekang PG only again to see if it helps or not...maybe a reaction to VG cause....it's to healthy :p

Both will dehydrate you, so keep doing what you're doing and if you're a coffee and soda drinker, they can exacerbate the dryness when used in excess along with vaping. Hope that helps.

I hope this goes with the thread.....does PG make your mouth and throat seem dry? I tried one of those cheap disposable e-cigs and found that I was drinking tons of fluids to get the dryness to go away. I'm assuming it was a PG liquid in the atty.

Both VG and PG can have similar adverse reactions - I had the same hard dry cough when using PG. Just a thought though - have you recently changed your flavor/vendor. Is there one flavor that seems to do this more than another or is it all just VG mix all the time? Another possibility is if you've increased your nicotine levels as that can lead to a throat hit that's not so comfortable for you? Just some ideas to toss in the pot...

Well I did change liquids now using a mix and before PG and the new one is 12 mg and the former 11 mg .... But I ordered my first liquid PG only again and when it arrives I'll test and post my findings here.

Thx for all the help

could be danny-- that same thing happened to me-- however I started with PG which after a couple weeks made me cough then I moved over to vg-- now i am fine-- just a few days ago i went to a vg/pg mix and I got that same tickle in my throat. - dont know what equipment your using (2 piece or 3 piece) but I will say it may be stuffing in the 2 piece design- i believe it emits an odd taste that may contain something that makes me cough- I only use a 3 piece where the atty doesnt touch the stuffing-- good and I have more info on my website about this

For the moment using a 2 piece the C8 and the t2cc ....it's better now but I do still have a tickle. With a 3 piece do ya mean like an ego c device?
I'll check your site thx

I think it has to do with the"big vape". I'm a chain vaper and this happens to me when I don't give the coil time to cool off.for me a hot hit = cough.
