These are some more trees I was gonna post last night but I was too tired...


The 'Lone Cypress' is a pretty famous tree, and a species that only grows along the coast in Monterey... which I guess is why it's called a Monterey cypress... LOL!! (a friend of mine even has a painting of it in his living room)

If you are ever up in NorCal near Monterey/Carmel, you just have to take a detour and go through the 17 Mile Drive where it is located... the coast is just beautiful there!! Last time I was up that way, part of the drive had been closed because of a fire they had earlier that year, but we drove around the barricades so we could have a chance to see if the tree had been spared... It has survived fires and even had to be stabilized over the years, but is still hanging in there!!

This is a different type of Cypress that grows in Mexico, and has the largest trunk of any tree in the world... even has old General Sherman beat!! And sadly, this one is starting to die because of pollution and climate change, too...
