Some information would greatly be appreciated:

Opinions, pros and cons of the Joye 510 eGo? KR808D-1? Volcano Magma? Screwdriver MKII? Prodigy V.3? Icon?

What additional accessories should I purchase with whatever product that I purchse? Extra batteries? Atomizers? Cartomizers?

e-liquid: What flavors do you recommend I start off with? What strenghth should I start off with? What companies would be good to get the e-liquid from? Are all e-liquids supported by the choice of EC that I have above? Dripping or Cartridges?

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

The least expensive way to start would be with an eGO kit, and it's a great eCig. I would definitely order some extra carts and batteries. I wouldn't worry much about mods at this point, but I would keep exploring ECF for the information you will need to make a good choice. As far as juices go, I would suggest a sampling of small bottles from a supplier like FreedomSmokeUSA, and put off any large quantity purchases until you find a flavor and nicotine level that you like. If you call David or Pam at 1-800-705-7013, they will be happy to give you great advice on your first purchase of juice - they also sell reasonably priced eGO kits. Juices really are not effected much by your hardware, so there is really no choice to be made there.......

FreedomSmokeUSA's web site is here: http://freedomsmokeusa.com/

The best advice for any noob is to give yourself options. You may not like what everyone else likes, though most would that for cartos it is between the 510 and the KR. If I were starting:

The Buzz from Cignot - gives you voltage options. 3.7 is nice, 6 is wow but too hot for most, 5 volts is out there and a sweet spot for many, The Buzz lets you have all three in a high quality raved about mod. If 3.7 turns out to be your thing, sale your Buzz easily and buy an eGo. If you just buy an eGo, you won't know whether 3.7 is what you want or not - you'll just know its all you've got.

Adapters. A cheap and easy way to try both atties. Again, you won't know whether you really prefer what you've got if you lock yourself in to one atty. For a couple extra bucks, get some adapters to go with your Buzz - or your eGo for that matter.

The main thing is, you don't have to rely on everybody else's preferences if you give yourself options right off the bat.

If you do try KR atties, make sure to get Premiums/Turbos/Gold Labels or whatever, don't use the old KRs, make sure you know what your getting and order them from a site that is clear about it. And remove the top and refill them just like you would with a 510 - don't fall for the line that they are "disposable". Dispose of them when they don't work good no more, just like any other atty.

You don't indicate your budget for these items, bigboyblake53, but I'm guessing, based on your preferences (Screwdriver MKII, Icon, etc.) it's probably around $100. For that amount, you could purchase a MKII Screwdriver from Totally Wicked (I believe there's a 7.5% discount somewhere) for $99 + shipping. That includes a Screwdriver body (Silver or Black), two 901 attys, 2 510 attys, an adapter so you can use the 510s, 2 batteries, a charger, a neck lanyard, and 10ml of 24mg e-juice. That's a pretty good bargain IMHO. Also, you could pick up a pack of 5 genuine Joye attys from TW as well, as they are currently on special for $27.99.
I've had a Screwdriver, along with a Joye Ego for about 4 months now, and while the Ego is a great PV, I don't like the idea of a proprietary battery. Plus, the Screwdriver is an all mechanical device....no switches to fail (unless you forget to tighten the screw occasionally and lose the damned thing, which I almost did). I find the Screwdriver MKII and the MKI ( a bit more expensive as it's handmade in England....has a better feel to it), to be thoroughly reliable and handsome units that do what they are supposed to do, simply and consistently. Hope this helps. :D

Thank you for the information .... Yeah I am not particularly concerned about a budget at this point. The SD is a cool device I have checked it out on You Tube's reviews, as well as, the Prodigy V.3, and Icon. However for the most part the Joye 510 eGo has been consistently rated.

I think the hardest thing I cannot get my head around is once I get the device (whatever one I get) the process of doing everything ... I think I am falling into my old habits of over thinking things again.

I'm telling you dude, look at the Buzz from Cignot before you buy. Give yourself room to experiment, you can always lock yourself down later.

I tried the Prodigy v1, the Chuck, the Vapestack, the eGo, and several pass-thrus. My favorite 3.7 was the Vapestack because it was so pocketable and I could get a different battery cup for 6 volts. The Chuck could also be used at 3.7 and 6. The problem with both was that you had to have different types of batteries. The Prodigy v1 was great at 5 volts. The eGo was, well, cool looking and an eGo. The pass thrus were great because they were 5 volts, but I was "tethered". Then I got a Buzz and quickly sold all the rest. One device. One type of batteries. Anywhere from 3.7 to 6 volts anytime I want with a simple turn of the screw. I'll never go back to fixed voltage devices.

Add a couple of adapters to the Buzz and the world is your oyster, no limitations. No shuffling batteries. Found my sweet spot at 4.7 volts. Never going back to buying mod after mod because nothing seemed quite what I wanted, however close they may have been.

I just upgraded to an eGo from Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. and is a wonderful unit. In my opinion this would be the best starter unit, I wish I had started with it. I prefer dripping compared to messing with cartridges or cartomizers but again that is my personal preference. I agree with banjo that if you contact FreedomSmokeUSA they will help you with your choices of samples to try in juices. Everyone's tastes are different and the amount of nicotine they need to keep those old urges under control. Whatever you choose I am sure will do the job and help is always available on ECF.

Good luck and welcome to ECF.
