From my knowledge, VG is a more viscous (thick) liquid, and produces more vapor. Some people are allergic to PG, so VG helps alleviate that.

I don't think there is any difference in their safety, as far as I know.

People usually only switch to VG to avoid PG allergies or for more vapor.

However, VG, due to its thick nature, is harder on atomizers.

I've read this board wayyyyyy too much. LOL.

You might read on a bit more - that was a standard line by those selling pg ;-) and I've even relayed it early on, but....

In the pure forms of PG vs. VG - VG is more viscous. But where a vendor has it available in flavors - cignot, innovapor (ecopure) and other places the VG has already been diluted/blended with either water or alcohol (usually at @ 80/20 blend) to where the atomizer isn't affected in the way it would with pure VG. IOW, that isn't a reason not to chose flavored VG or even if you diy because you'll be diluting it anyway. It tends to add sweetness still, but what flavors are added also affect that, of course.

If you have cats... VG is safer, but anything with nicotine isn't.

I am amazed by your knowledge, as usual. I think I learned everything in that post from you. :)

Cats, huh? What about a dog?

Dogs are good with PG, Cats not - an intesting google - "cats propylene glycol", then if you do a search on "cats glycerin" you get cat foods. And even low levels of nicotine are no good for either. Had one dog death reported here in a sad accident.

Just place your order. The 510 is a popular model and e-liquids is a crap shoot. Get going with yyour device, note the things you like and dislike, and report said findings back to this forum. Many users will be more than happy to help you get the most satisfaction from your vaping device.

Excellent advice:):):)

I am completely new to e-cigs. But after reading on this board I have decided on the Joye510.(fr RMV) I also will be ordering the juice from diyflavorshack. I have no ideal rather to order VG or PG? What is the differences? Is one safer than the other? Also any pros or cons on my choices would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Starting my 7th week of vaping and I've discovered:

1. I prefer the VG juice over PG. Better vapor and no background flavor like pg (not much with pg either, but...)

2. There seems to be a significantly larger range of flavors & nic levels available in PG than in VG mixes, so...

3. I can get USP Glycerin (about as pure as you can find, and completely equivalent to VG)) at most pharmacies. I picked up 6 oz for ~$8 at a local Target store. I've heard it's even cheaper at Walgreen's.

4. Glycerin is viscous, so cut it with water, about 1 part H2O to 5 parts Glycerin (adjust up/down to your pleasure).

5. If you can't find the juice you want in VG, just buy the equivalent in PG (but with higher nic content) and mix it about 1 part VG/H2O with 2 parts PG juice (again, experiment a little). This pretty much gets rid of the (faint) PG flavor and gives you virtually all of the VG vapor.

Happy Vapin'

Forgot to add:

If you decide eventually that you want pure VG juices then I can recommend the ECOpure brand from Intellicig, especially the flavor they call RICH. You can also get it from InnoVapor, but lately most of their juices seem to be on backorder.

Thank you for the replies. I placed my order today. I ordered the Joye510 from rocky mountain(starter kit black with blue led). I aslo placed a order for juice with DIYflavorshack. I ordered the red bull vg and then in my excitement for flavors I ordered the Cafe Viennoise... which after I paid I realize it didnt give the option to pick vg or pg. So now I am not sure what that will be. Thanks so much for the help. I am sure I will be back with more questions:)
