I have waited on buying this atomizer for the same reason. I honestly think they are not the same due to the reasons,

I have seen vendors state Phoenix Atomizer (style) or (clone).

If you can also look at the different videos, one has black plastic underneath the coil screw posts and Pbusardo's video has white plastic screw posts. This is why I am leaning on buying from one of the original vendors Grimm has posted where to buy these. Also Mountainoaksvapors.com seems to be the original Phoenix from Photos, but again who knows if its a clone.

Got one from OKCvapes. Loving it. Least fiddly way to drip I've come across so far. Draw is on the tighter side, but I'm not complaining. Coil looks like its gonna be interesting to rebuild something so small.

I really want to get one of these to mod for bottom feeding. Only thing holding me back is that it would leave bare brass exposed to the juice feeding up through the newly drilled hole. Wish there was more definitive info on the effects of chemical reaction between brass and e-liquids. I have heard it mentioned to press fit a ss tube into the drilled hole but no idea where I would get a tube that small or if I could even get in there.

I jumped the gun and got the Bulldog from OKCVapes after watching the pbusardo review. It's my first RBA, and that first few hours with it I figured I'd wasted my money. I got really harsh, dry hits, and even the fuller vapes were just not living up to my expectations. I let it sit, frustrated, and an hour or two later I vaped on it again and it was absolutely great!

So, fast forward to today, it's my primary vape on a lavatube when I'm home. Just love the flavor, the volume of vapor, and all this is on the stock coil. I am planning to make a coil for it when the time comes, but after a little over a week this thing is still hitting fierce.

A good tip to know, and I had to poke around for, is to be sure to use the o-ring that comes with the Bulldog to position the body so the airhole points at the coil, not down along it. I'd also recommend not doing what I did and letting the atty sit long enough for the wick to become fully saturated. I think that was a majority of the reason I was getting such terrible performance right out of the gate.

I recently re-watched the phoenix review from grimmgreen and the bulldog review from pbusardo and they both look similar, but are they really?

Liberty Flights and Vapor..... are the only US distributors for the original eshots Phoenix RBA
All the others are knock offs

Still waiting to see who will be the US distributors for the Phoenix XL
It became available in the Philippines on 9-1-12

You can get a syringe needle in whatever gauge you need to use for a liner tube.

The Bulldog is the Phoenix clone, I like the A7 much better and it would be a good bottom feeder as the air hole is in the center post.
The Phoenix can not be modified to have the air come through positive post, not easily anyway.
I have both and prefer the the A-7 , it's just easier to work with.

Let me just add than they both work great and cost little.
