I just got in the mail my pack of the 808's and they only work on 2 of my batteries. 1 of them I filled up...no leaking no nothing and it wouldn't work on any battery so I gently pulled out the bottom peg or whatever you call it a little well before I pulled it I unscrewed it a little (okay I admit I don't really know what I'm doing) and hooray connection but then a couple hours go by and I look over and the juice has seeped EVERYWHERE I'm not even sure where it was coming from all I know is the clearo was empty and juice was everywhere so in the garbage the phoenix went.

What on earth? Please someone...what did I do wrong? I'd like to make it so the other ones I have work on more than 2 of my batteries but I'm deathly scared to touch the battery connection thing on the bottom but I know that's the problem it's not making a connection.

Another question...do I wait until these are completely empty before filling? I've watched so many damn youtube videos its ridiculous and I still feel like I have no clue what I'm doing...annoying.

MonicaRae...

I hope this will be helpful but all I have are 510 and eGo type stuff.. hopefully they are similar enough to give you some ideas.

The issue with connections are caused as much by the battery as it is by the vaporizer you screw into it. There are no real standards on how deep the connection must be so every maker ( of either type ) will just use their own measurement. On the 510... the bottom connection is usually called the pin... and on the battery its usually called a post.

When I have this type of issue... I look at the vaporizer and see if the pin is in the right place or not... on the 510 that place is just lower than the outer threads and isn't flush with them. If the pin looks right... I then turn my attention to the post on the battery side and pull it up instead of pulling the pin down on the vaporizer.

Ok.. onto the leak issue. The Phoenix is a bottom coil clearo and as such... it relies on a slight vacuum to be present or it will flood and can leak out of the bottom connection. You probably lost the vacuum when you were messing with the pin. Obviously this is a guess and it could have been something else that happened but it does seem logical since that was what you were messing with at the time.

Turn the cleoro upside down and put it into a kleenex or something and then lightly blow into the bottom connection. This show help "reset" it. Place it into a cup for a while to just to make certain that something else is causing the leak.

On the battery that got wet... place it into some dry rice overnight... that should help dry it out.

If you need to adjust other connections... try doing it when the vaporizer is empty and then fill it once it is working properly.

Also... when screwing a vaporizer into your battery... do not over tighten it or you will cause the post on your battery to get pushed in causing this type of trouble for you latter.

I did fill it right...believe me. It's not difficult especially seeing as they come with a little card that shows how as well. I watched steeljan's vid and also madvapes vid. But I think rdsok got it right with the leak was with the bottom post..that was what I was fiddling with.

I feel so stupid that I haven't thought of doing it with them empty. But then again when I do it with them empty how do I know if they're gonna leak?

Oh and how do I lift the post up on the battery itself? I know you were talking about a 510 and I have an 808 but it's still possible right?

I can't say if it's possible on the battery you have or not but I do suspect that it is... you'd need a really small pair of needlenose pliers ( preferred ) like some jewelers would use. Another method that is a bit fiddly but does work on the 510's is to use a small screwdriver and sort of wedge it on one side of the post ( pushing towards the post ) and pull it up slightly... then switch to the opposite side and then perhaps on the sides 90 degrees from those sides ( basically on each of the 4 sides ). You aren't looking for a big movement, just enough to help make the connection.

I agree they are pretty good. I haven't had any problems since the first one. Do you notice that they go thru juice pretty fast? I vape for a couple hours and its empty... with my other clearo's it's not like that at all.

Wonder why?

The more vapor it produces... the faster you will go through juice. If you have a VV or VW PV... you can turn up/down the power to control it. Of course, turning down should lead to less vapor as well.
