I'm not sure the protank 2 will be a big enough upgrade from what you are using (unless you get into rebuilding the coils, a pita to learn, but it does make a big difference). I used to use a protank 2, but it has been sitting in the closet ever since I got the aerotanks

Look on fastech, and you should be able to find an adjustable airflow base for that, which will make it perform a bit better

It provides better airflow, and allows you to find the amount of air you like the best to give you the flavor vs vapor level you like

I see your dilemma, kinda makes you wonder what all the fuss is about copper when your water is delivered in it all the time.
