The crown and VTC mini works best with temp control.

On normal Watt mode, its slightly underpowered. But bypass mode does its job.

This little mod just turned 5 years old. Still a great vape.

1.8 ohm coil in an A7mini. Get 6 hours vape time from a 14500 battery.
Great temperature, throat hit, and flavor .... minus the huge cloud.
Love getting 3 hits/drop instead of using 3 drops/hit.

Funny, the Caravela with an 18650 is the exact same length as the Mako with a 14500.

Thanks @smokyribs! So just whatever temp I like and highest wattage and go? I'm having an issue with my STM with the Ni200 OCC's and the VTC mini seems to just hit temp protection very early on.. I dunno what it is but it's very annoying as I can't get a decent hit out of it.. went back to kanthal for the STM in the end =/

I'm using my Uwell Crown with the stock Ni coils on my eVic VTC mini at 460F and 60w. Works fine. I do have another Uwell Crown tank that is on the 0.25 ss coils and in power mode on the eVic VTC mini, it runs just fine at 60w. Would have been better if I could bump that up to 70 or 75 and that's where the sx mini comes in handy.

Have you tried raising the Temp on ur evic to see if it still hits temp protect just as fast? That way we can isolate the problem down to the unit itself. Or better still, put the STM on another TC mod and see if the same thing happens then we know for sure that the problem lies in ur STM.

Definitely the mod itself. I've tried raising the temp up incrementally and although it does help it a bit, it will still hit this ceiling again until I can't actually go any further with the temp ceiling for the mod.

I just mentioned in another thread that the STM does actually work fine on my Sig 75 but admittedly I'm too scared to take the normal draws that I would for fear of a dry hit or something as that's what I'm thinking is the issue with the VTC mini.. could be a wicking issue but I'm not sure.. I've tried piercing holes into the wick holes of the coil and thought that helped but it didn't.

My next step is to try what @TrollDragon did and build some Ni200 coils for the RBA of the STM and see if that helps the matter.. fingers crossed but still sadly, am thinking that its the mod and not the tank atm

Ah, that kinda sucks. Do you have any other tanks that's on Nickel coils so that you can try them on the eVic VTC mini?

I had a bit of issue when i put my zephyrus tank on my eVic the first day I got it. Couldn't read the tank at all and after a bit of fiddling around, it seemed ok and hasn't been giving me any problems anymore.

At least try flipping the center pin on the STM, it's known to help with TC.

You just push the center pin out, flip it over and push it back in from the inside.
