Pastubbs, I am using 4 NiMh D Cells, the amperage rating on a D cell is for continual use so unless you just leave the fire button on it should be fine. At least that is what I'm in the stages of testing at the moment. As for battery life, current approximation is at least a week. If a 3k Mah 18650 lasts an afternoon, a 40k Mah battery should last upwards of a week and a half or so. Again still in the testing phase.
