Bass players seem to have it bad. G.A.S. I mean. I was bad bad bad, until I finally got a Rickenbacker, an SVT-VR (300watt tube amp) and 8X10 cab. Of course, then I wanted to play around with 5 strings, and a fretless. So I got a cheap-o fretless 5 string. Tough transition. Then I had to have a baritone guitar, got a cheap Eastwood that's been great after a good setup.

Okay, I'll stop now, or I'll start posting photos of bass/guitar gear instead of mods and attys. ;)
But you've got some NICE, I mean NICE stuff there man. I had to stop reading/posting a talkbass.com years ago. It was getting out of hand. I finally got a few good fuzz pedals and synth pedals and decided I had, HAD to stop. Especially since I'm not recording anymore.

You are so right:

I went through a lot of gear also. Finally settled on just one bass, 2 guitars( electric and acoustic), and a Roland G8. Only doing a little studio work now. It's funny seeing the G.A.S. acronym used in this forum. It really does apply. LOL

"Feel" is the commonality, I think, between instruments and vapin' gear. A tactile thing. I know that sometimes I reach for a mod based on what I want to hold, instead of whatever is in the atty. Same way I sometimes itch for the neck on a fretless, or the way another guitar sits in your hands. I can come up with a melody or rhythm on any instrument and then later figure out what it actually sounds best on.
