(as I stated in another thread, I have temporarily abandoned nickel builds in tanks. Just too frustrating right now. I'll perfect the nickel coils in drippers before I go back to tanks.....)

i to have temporarily abandoned Nickel and have stuck a kanthal build back in my Marquis.

I have no intention of giving up though and may try the Nickel again tomorrow.

I absolutely love temperature protected vaping. I currently have 4 DNA40 devices and all have nickel builds. A little tricky at first with the soft nickel but once you get it, it pays off in spades imo.

Here's my Ni200 build on an Erlkonigin. 28g, 10 wrap, 3mm mandrel. 0.14Ω. Wicked with Sally's cellucotton (rayon).

^Awesome build there Jax

Thanks Q!

jaxgator, that is an immaculate build! How do you get a dense-enough wick in there without distorting the coil? Do you have to re-align your coil after you've wick'd it? I'm envious! Keep it up!

Thanks zip!

Yeah, it is tough wicking it without disturbing the coil. There were times when I had to massage the coil to get it spaced back out after wicking. There were other times when I was able to get it wicked without destroying the coil.

I used to use rayon to wick with but am now using KGD in my RBAs. It's super easy in that you can cut it perfectly and build it without disturbing the coil much, if at all.

My wicks are generally on the thin side as well because I like high VG juices so that helps too.

Awesome, I may have to give KGD a shot after all. I've been sold on rayon for a while now; it just works with all my other devices and I've learned how to wick for different PG/VG ratios. The nickel changes things though, so I'll have to adjust. Thanks for the tips!

Thanks zip!
