Picture Posting Guidelines

What kind of pictures should be allowed?

  • No pic at all cost

  • Pics that only show part of the device should be allowed (for technical questions/assistance)

  • Pics that show the entire PV, without our location is ok (personal stash)

  • Pics of PVs, and also atties/cartos shouldn't be restricted at all.

Recently, everybody go into high alert mode after we attracted some unwanted attention. Pictures showing personal stash are restricted as an added precaution. However, at certain situations, a pic might be needed in order to get an accurate help. Some members might also be wondering what kind of pictures should or shouldn't be posted.

This poll will gather all your opinions so that we can shape a clearer guideline from here. The options available are not exhaustive and open for discussions, like whether brand names should be included or not. Feel free to voice out what should or shouldn't be allowed and your reasonings.

This poll will be opened for a month. Meanwhile, pls do not post any pics if you are unsure.

Pictures requesting for help in identifying product/problems are fine in my opinion. But I still feel that the less pictures there are, the better it would be.
If you have a problem with your device, take 5 minutes to write out the problem in detail. It helps in your logical thinking and who knows, you may solve the problem yourself. It also improves your writing skills.

I say we have pictures that do not show the item in full. If you have a problem with your setup just post a picture of the part.

If not there are specific threads elsewhere for these things. Threads requesting pics of your bling should not be posted

Sent from North Korea & we have Disneyland here

The issues of posting full PV pics in sgvapers are that they show precisely what the locals are interested in, what they possess/use and what they are bringing in. Hence providing an easy watch-list for the anti-vaping bodies, consolidated conveniently for them.

If you got different views and strongly feel that it should be allowed instead of being restricted, do let us know the reasons. It will be up for a healthy debate.

Restricting all pics will not let a newbie get some of the answers that he needs, and even worse if he need specific answers.

So here's my suggestion, common gear such as a ego style battery or a clearomiser/cartomiser can be posted as they are more common in the market, however more advanced mods such as some box mods or mechanical mods cannot be posted.

If anyone with a advanced mod needs specific help that has to be shown using pictures, I hope that one of the vets will be able to help them out through PM ( not disclosing any information, only information regarding fixing/solving the problem)

This way, we'll be able to help each other out, without exposing ourselves everywhere.

I often find this point weird. The entire ECF has plenty of sections, where newbies post questions or require certain info on the stuff they use or what they might wanna use.
There already are questions asked and answered.
To me, sgvapers is a subforum, where locals get together speaking the same lingo and mingle around. It is not the ONLY source of avenue to seek help.
More often then not, newbies come in and ask questions which already have answers, just a failure to even bother to look through the entire forum or a simple click of the search button.

Since the situation has gotten worse these past weeks with the media attention, I vote we totally eliminate pictures in the subforum. It solves all and any possibility of red flagging.

Newbies who faces problems, ask questions in the correct sections. I'm sure the whole world would help you. Rather then coming into sgvapers and start asking sensitive questions, risking the entire community.

I foresee that it just takes one single local forum member to get tracked down via IP address, that this forum would die off entirely.

I agree with all of this. Any mention of specific sites has to go as well. We'll need a forum clean up if we go down this route.
