Hi guys.

You may have noticed that the "Want" thread is gone. Don't panic! There are still many ways to get the things you want to try:

We have the TC thread where things are offered free, with no expectation of a return offer and you may accept something from this thread once a month if you like.

We have the various PIF threads where you can take an offer and then in return put one up for someone else to enjoy.

We have the Swap thread where you may offer your gear for someone elses gear.

And of course, if there is a true vaping emergency, the option to PM a PIF moderator is still available.

As always, do your PIF'ing in these available threads out on the open forum and never solicit anyone via PM for items as this can get you banned. Also, never ask anyone to change the offer they've made to you on the open forum via PM as this can also get you banned.

I'm sorta glad this came to be, because I never knew whether to post in "wants" or "trade". I've always got something to "trade" for something I "want".
Also, the "want" thread was becoming more like a link fest rather than actually filling wants.

aaah, chelle - you know i have mixed feelings on that but it probably is for the best ......

sometimes it took a 'want' to be posted for me to realize i could help out, and i was the beneficiary once or twice on that thread with a want of my own. let me tell you something - it REALLY made my day to have people respond! i'm sorry that others no longer can experience this but i do understand the reasoning behind closing the thread.

Every once in a while Whippy the Squirrel has to rise up to keep us in line Personally I enjoyed Wants, that was pretty much my main way to PIF, however I appreciate the thought process behind closing it. (That's why they pay you Mods da big bucks, to make the tough choices )

I will miss it as others have mentioned. It was rare I could help, but felt good when I was able. It was being abused of late though and this is a good decision. So many good threads to PIF already. You mods can monitor the real needs which will be better.

On the one hand, it was easy to troll the thread and see ways that I could easily help, without having to take something in return, or to sprain my brain trying to think of things to put in TC.

On the other hand, because of the AWESOME generosity of so many of the folks here, the Wants Thread was often abused, and in turn gave off bad vibes to some of the sweetest and the kindest.

Hopefully this will make your lives easier too... and the new members can understand the real meaning and purpose of our lovely group. (((buggyhugs))) ♥

Keep an eye on "Swaps", you can always offer what they need and not take a swap for it...but just do it out on the open forum, like you know the squirrel wants you to. Having folks offer something to get something goes over much better and gives us a better community...the option to take the trade is there and a nice gesture and we need more of that here, even if we aren't taking the swap for the item needed. This is for the good of the group in general, you'll see. Love ya Bug.

I've taken at least one swap that I didn't need, but I had what they wanted. It actually turned out well, as I was able to swap the thing I didn't need in the first place for something that I do need. It all works out. Now, if we had our own little "Where do I get a..... for cheap" thread, that would have satisfied my last "want" and I think at least a few others, as that's where I got the idea to ask in that thread.
