Just received Pila charger and to my surprise, this charger was designed to work for someone with color-vision impairment.

I had several different chargers over the years and they all used some type of LED that would change color (usually green/red) to indicate charging status. This was not very useful for someone with red/green vision impairment or completely color-blind. While the Pila charger also uses red/green colors, these are in two separate LEDs, so the user doesn't need to rely on color alone, but can instead "read" the placement of the LED -- the LEDs are even labeled as "Charging" and "Full".

Great design.

i understand... im color blind too. not severly but enough to to have to look very carefully to see the difference on my chargers.

im currently trying to start a campaign to get color blind people handicapped parking passes... ITS A HANDICAP!

LOL, good luck with the parking space.

There are statistics that claim that anywhere between 8-15% of people have some type of color vision problems. So it is not insignificant number of potential customers. I don't really know if Pila used multiple LEDs because of that, but I am glad they didn't try to squeeze out 50 cents saving by switching to single LED.
