so i am attempting to build my own e pipe. so far i am using the inner cylinder from my kamry k1000 which has the battery sitting positive up. i dig the way the k1000 worked but not really its look and feel so i decided to disassemble it(after it quit on me). the one wire i see inside is supposed to attach to the spring on bottom but every video, post etc... (most of which are a coupla years old)...has the builders wiring their pipes with negative pole up. shouldn't there be at least two wires? one neg. and one pos.? i only see the red wire that goes to the spring. how do i make this work? do i need a ground wire? help please.

Welcome! Once you get past your first 5 posts you should be able to post in the Modding forum, where you will likely get the most attention from people able to answer you. In the mean time, you can browse around in there and maybe find a thread on a build similar to what you're trying to do
Modding Forum | E-Cigarette Forum

this is a mechanical device, correct? In this case, the body is probably being used as one side of the current path, hence only one wire being in there (I'm not really familiar with the device, so sorry if I can't offer any specific advice here). The direction the battery is oriented will depend on the design of the device and how your connections are made, a device could be designed for either orientation depending on how it's laid out. Typically, the battery + should be connected to the center pin of your atomizer connector

If you can post some pictures of the pieces you are working with it will help people make build suggestions. You might not be able to do that until after your first 5 posts, though, so just join in a couple of discussions or continue this one (with any luck you'll get a few replies here) and you'll be there in no time :)

and yes, it is mechanical. i finally figured it out. yes, the body of the kamry k1000 was the ground. so i ended up just wiring a washer to the "ground" and it is now the negative. used the button top from the kamry with a shaved down grommet and the positive wire is making that contact. then i just press the button and voila.

I'm not sure that your last couple of posts (^^^) will count. I'm thinking you might need to chat a little more here in the new member forum. Then you'll have to wait until you are released (the forum has to cycle through some way.)

Cool that you're building your own e-pipe. How long have you been vaping? Hi, I'm Jan. I've been vaping for over five years now......and love, love, loving it.

What do I have to do to be able to make the picture files small enough to post?
You will need to go to some app or program that can re-size them for you. You're asking the wrong person....sorry. I have the same trouble. Instead of attaching them using the little icon on the top bar, try using the "Upload a file" button down below, next to the Post Reply button and see if it will post it as a thumbnail or something. I don't know.....sorrow it posts as a thumbnail, then we can click on them and see them bigger.
