pirate Dna-20 chip

welp..

Chip came in from china, it works well (at least at the low end of the range,7-8w). The board is Ok, in terms of quality, i've seen better, and i've seen much worse.

heres my big problem... it says "Evolv dna" on boot up. its very clear the intention of this chip is to fool people. When its all boxed up (presumably in a hana clone box) it will be rather difficult to tell if its a fake or not...

Whats people's opinion of all these clones?

I would be more bothered by clones if the real manufacturers were more reasonably priced and more readily available.

But as long as the real manufacturers are charging $200+ for a glorified flashlight then I'll pay $40 for a glorified flashlight that looks and performs exactly the same, and I really don't care whose logo is on it or if it bears a logo at all.

The clones wouldn't exist if the real thing was priced competitively and was readily available.
