Pkg stuck in Chicago 4 5 days?

No updates since 11th. Is this a prob with USPS's tracking system page or at what point do you start to get concerned? (shipping usually takes 2-3 days)

What do I do/who would you contact and at what point, if there's a problem?

(It's also triple digit heat in CA, if that has anything to do with it?)

1st time there's ever been a delay & don't want to bother customer service if there's something I can do, myself.

Check again at night when it's down in the 60's... Probably will work better then. Especially considering that it's delivery confirmation, NOT a tracking number.

This does happen from time to time but 99% of the time it ends up coming but just late. The USPS tracking system maybe the most unreliable tracking system I have seen sometimes. I have seen there website say a package was delivered and it didn't get delivered until a day later.

I had 3 packages within this month and last month that were "missent". My most recent order took almost 7 days getting here with a weekend.

Anyone else look at their calendar? 11th was a Sunday. USPS travel days then would be 12, 13, 14 - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, which takes us to current [at time of posting] - which is inside the "three days".

I could be wrong though, I was never very good with hard math like that...

Val, I had checked usps which had it as being shipped out on the 10th and 'landing' in Ill. on the 11th but got several error msgs that their tracking service page was unavailable blah, blah, blah, "please try again later". Perhaps, by later, they mean next week? Who knows? We generally have really good mail service and will check the usps website again. (I had one pkg the PO held at their dispatch center when it wouldn't fit in the mailbox but all my V4L orders well, the postal carrier is possibly at the point of being amazed if there's not a pkg/wk comin here, lol!

I meant look at the forums. It's a very common issue to have USPS not update the "tracking" information accurately. The system is actually a delivery confirmation system and not real-time tracking. This is likely why you have seen no movement and should not rely on the USPS updates to know where your package actually is. They are under no obligation to update it as the package moves, thus, they often don't. Take the "tracking" information with a grain of salt. Your package is on it's way to you and will get there.


it's not even that it's "lost" usually. It's just that they didn't update the status of it because they are not obligated to.

V4L is awesome! This is actually the first time the USPS tracking was so off but, I checked their site again and it updated to in CA. Should get here today, if not tomorrow.

It's triple digit heat with heat advisories all week here so unless postal carriers are wearing cooling systems(unlikely), I think we can expect, understandably, they'll be taking breaks at cooling centers, like everyone else. Can slow it down a tad. I hate triple digit heat! We don't get it often, but it happens.

So, what's up with your website? I hope you can keep it on-line. I'd love a poster size frameable of your logo! Any chance of that happening?

Ya--I just had the same problem. Was not a V4L shipment, but USPS all the same.

Had an order ship out of NY on the 9th, its just now in a truck being delivered to my house in NW Ohio. Excluding the weekend thats 5 days to get from NY to OH---that is 100% BS.

But hey positive note--it should be in my mailbox when i get home from work!

Vivi - really, don't worry. As Val and Kimmy pointed out, it's really about the on-line USPS tracking being inaccurate, not that you don't get your order.

I did learn, though, through this, that USPS has a toll-free # (1800-ASK-USPS) and that seems to work a lot better. It can also connect you to your nearest PO (or USPS.Find a Business/Standard Search - United States Postal Service - to find the closest one to you) so, for example, if you have a pkg there you want to pick up before work, you'd get it faster than the mailperson would be scheduled to drop it off. (I personally like the pkgs dropped off directly but, if I was out of juice late on a Tues and my pkg wouldn't go out until Wednesday (we get the mail very late here) they do provide the option of picking up your pkg w/ the tracking # and your ID.

I've just never noticed any issues w/ their on-line update & was just asking, in advance what others do and when - I'm sure you'll get your new order w/o it getting lost and soon also!!! ....V4L is great with orders and if you ordered during the sale, they are really busy getting all orders out. A day or two day delay is reasonable during a sale, as McCall said, though it wouldn't surprise me if V4L bumps newbies ahead because it's so exciting to make the decision to quit. I couldn't wait to get my kit but, I got it in 3 days, excluding Sunday....during a sale! Tracking is an entirely different issue that from most of what I've read, doesn't actually effect when you get your order. If you don't find USPS on-line helpful, seriously, try the 800#. I didn't know they had one for tracking until this.

You'll love V4L and your PV! (I'm so jealous cause I've been wanting to try out the shorties w/ the PCC, myself, but, went w/ the Kings kit - I have an e-mail to customer service to see if I can add more to my last order cause it hasn't processed yet, not sure they can do that cause the sale is over but thought it was worth asking, anyway. I didn't order enough juice just trying to get it in fast. They must be swamped from this one but I always get my orders. I really don't think the team ever sleeps trying to keep up with us! Good for us but, bad for them )

USPS - Track & Confirm - Put our delivery information to work for you

I have the best luck using this tracking. No idea why it seems to work better but it does...that is when somebody scans it! I have had packages that say we have been notified to pick up..for 3 days! I always get it anyway.

WOW... not you... the shipping... the package that I expected to get next week came today! No samples thou... was looking forward to that... I really liked the fact that they throw those in, it's nice to try something that you may not have thought you would like or that were considering ordering... Oh well... such as life! lol.... I am already preparing the next order.
