I am wondering the same thing, (or along the same lines) as you are Johnny B. I just got a couple of usb passthroughs and would like to hook them up to some kind of battery pack, (that I can plug the usb passthrough into). Is this an easy thing to do? Have others done it plenty and I just haven't found info on it?

Any information on this would be greatly appriciated as the batteries my rn4081 came with kinda suck! They run out of power really quickly.

Oh and Hi all! This is my first post

Hi and welcome, meanies. I have something called a Kensington Power Pack that works very well. There are others that are similar, but I can't remember their names right now. There are some power packs on eBay that might be cheaper, too. If you search the forum for Kensington, you will probably see mine and others too. The Google search way down at the bottom left of the page works very well.

Johnnie B., if you're talking about a charger that plugs into the wall and has a USB slot, then probably yes, if it's rated that high.

the dse103 works great for my rn4081 again I got it from wordupecig.com. It does work fine from my laptop usb port but better from from ac/usb charger it has to be rated at 1000mA or 1 amp. I had an ac/usb at 500ma and another at 600mA it it does not work. Again great vapor from 1 amp. I as able to great a dual ac/usb charger for about 6 dollars including shipping. PM me for the site or do a search on this site for "dual usb charger". Good luck!

bearscreek: thanks :) that is what I'm looking for, I am waiting for my pt to arrive and will give it a go via my computer first to see if it's better than just with the standard rn4081 battery.

The kensington packs are fairly expensive so I assume they are good, (also coming with a warranty helps). As I am in Australia we tend to get shafted on the cost of things and I will end up ordering one from overseas. Current shipping prices from the states to Australia via US ebayers is anywhere between $33 and $60 AU! Ridiculous...

Thanks again for the help though.

I'm sure you'll like it much better than your standard battery. For one thing, it will last much longer. I was getting almost 2 whole days on the Kensington and obviously it would last forever on the PC. I'm not using my Kensington much anymore because I changed over to the 510 and I hated my 510 PT. I was using it before with a 4081 PT, which was great. Keep your eyes open for some less expensive power packs that do the same thing, though. I hate that the shipping is so tough for you guys, but it's that bad for me when I order from China, so I know how you feel.

 ahhhh I got my pt's today woooo hooo I got one automatic and a manual both from bestecig and far out what a difference! Man I was getting super frustrated with the original batteries that came with it, they just wouldn't last more than an hour or so before I was whacking them back in the charger. Pt's are the way to go!

I also splashed out and got the kensington battery pack. Cost me $99 AU from a local electronics store but it's a sweet looking unit and I can't wait to give it a crack.

Now all I need to do is work out the best mod for these cartridges... hmmmm

Thanks for your help bearscreek ;)
