Ok. I know what a bottomfeeder does and what a tank mod is for. But after alot of searching I still dont understand what a mod is useful for. Ya know, like a plain box mod with just a battery in it. Does the larger battery create more heat resulting in a much better vap? My Bloog Maxie puts out a good bit of heat as it is. Almost too much.

1) Batteries are cheaper
2) switches are replaceable (Most of the time)
3) the mod itself is typically cheaper Unless you get in to Provari territory

I myself am looking into getting one (Box mod) I like the idea of being able to buy a few batteries and never having to worry about replacing the entire unit.

Bloog/Volt/G6 is regulated 3.6 w/ a 5-second cutoff. Most 3.7v mods are more like Vapor4Life which is 3.7v unregulated w/ a 10-13 second cutoff - hotter off the charger, allows long drags, degrades more at the end of charge. So as a V4L user, when I stick an adapter on my box mod and vape my KR808D-1 cartomizers, it's the same as Vapor4Life but with longer charge that degrades a bit slower. And if I was capable of taking drags longer than 10 seconds it would probably let me do that.

What is different though is that slim ecigs should not use LR (low resistance) atomizers and cartomizers which give more heat and hit. And even mass-produced 450mah+ batteries sometimes cannot take the current draw and heat changes of very low resistance stuff.

What is also different - most mods have more charge than your Bloog. My 3.7v box mod with one 14500 battery has 900mah of charge (600mah with an AW IMR battery which maintains the voltage better)

Also many mods have on/off switches. Their batteries cost $5-7 each. And they have interesting styles. And some are also inexpensive once you own a charger and batteries. $20 for a plastic box mod, $10-12 for a kit to make one. And if you bought a charger that charges various sizes, that one charger will work for many of your future mods.

What the Bloog has that I have not seen in a simple 3.7v box mod is regulated power so though your Bloog doesn't get quite the heat of a V4L fresh off the charger, your power is kept at a more even 3.6v.

Ugh. So much to learn. Definitely harder than just goin to the store and getting a pack of analogs. But I will NOT go gentle into that good night!! Ha,Haaaa!! Oh no! lol

Thanks ya'll. Alot of trial and error in vaping. Eventually I'll stop staring over the edge and just jump and try some stuff. (which of course means spending money)

BloodWolf...if the Bloog is doing you justice, then there isn't a need for you to go any farther unless it's out of curiosity. Since your Bloog has stopped you from buying cigs, it's doing it's job so stick with it.

Yur totally right. My Bloog and all the accessories I bought for it does me just fine for now. It's just SO easy to get caught up in the vast galaxy of vaping options.

Yes and getting caught up in the vaping options can lead to a lot of disappointment and wasted money. I have tried a ton of mods and sold a ton of mods but out of all of them, the simplest setup is my goto vape...an eGo-T battery, Boge 2.0ohm or lower resistance cartomizer, and some good juice. Nothing gets easier than that and it satisfies me. Mods are nice is terms of being able to change the way you vape. If the Bloog wasn't satisfying you, then I could give you all kinds of options but you don't need that right now. There may come a time when you feel you aren't getting the good vape to keep you off cigs. If that happens, then buy yourself a mod but until then, save your money. You haven't smoked and that's what matters.

What happens to us is that we start adding up just how MUCH (very much!) money we're saving from not smoking, and it gives us that heady feeling of having all this money to spend on e-cig "toys" if we want to and still be saving money over buying cigarettes! Ha. It's a slippery slope. I am saving gobs of money from my cigarette budget, but I'm spending a LOT of it on my e-cig stuff. But.....for me, that's okay, too. I raised two kids by myself, and the pvs and all the fixin's that I'm buying for myself are really the first time in about 20 years that I've spent ANY money on myself. I'm having the time of my life....and I'm still saving money. It's just the treat I'm giving myself these days.

I am currently using the Volt which is the same as the Bloog. However, I'm starting to look at mods for the following reasons: more battery life and ability to not have to fill carts so much. The one drawback of mods are their size but I guess you need to weigh the size vs what you want from your vaping experience. I have been considering either the GGTS or the Provari. The GGTS seems to provide the most options but can be high maintenance, expensive and super difficult to find and get parts for (depends on where you live) which is holding me back. The provari looks pretty safe and good but I haven't found a tank system as good as what is an option as the UFS. Until I decide I'll keep using the Volt despite having to continually swap batteries.

    Is this mod small enough?

It cost me $2.20 to make the mod, $2.45 ea for the batteries, and $1.35 ea for the cartomizer.
You can make or buy mods that are any size you want.
