So, back in June a couple of friends and I decided to attend VapeStock 2013, where I bought the biggest carto tank I could find, the 25mm XL tank from IBTanked. Normally, they do all kinds of designs on the tanks, but the 25mm tanks were all plain. That was fine by me, and I've loved the tank since I got it. Nowadays, though, I'm thinking of trying to decorate it myself.

Here are some pics:

I've had some ideas, here's what I've got so far:
  • Painting it myself (It'd be a pain, and I'm not very good at painting. Also, I'm kinda concerned about what kind of paint to use, since it'd chip off or peel eventually if it isn't the right kind)
  • Grabbing a piece of copper tubing that would fit over it, either cutting or engraving (maybe etching?) a design into it.
  • I've emailed the support guys at IBTanked to see if I could sent it out to them to be painted.
  • Maybe finding some gears and bending them to the curve of the tank and gluing them on.

So, anyone have any other ideas/suggestions? Anyone added stuff to a plain glass tank before? Also, anyone have a tank from IBTanked that's been painted by them? I'm wondering if it's normal paint or if they use a glaze or some kind of paint that you have to fire (it'd pretty much be melted glass at that point). Sorry if I'm not using the right terms for any of this stuff, art things are new to me. Thanks for any help!

I'm suprised this post hasn't gotten more response, maybe I spend too much time in the craft forums.
I was looking to paint my own tank also but have given up on the idea , the only type of paint that would be durable enough to hold up to sticky eliquid would need to be kiln cured. They have oven cured paint but I don't believe it would be durable.
btw, the paint that IBtanked uses is super stuck on the glass, It's not going anywhere!
I am now looking for sticky backed copper sheeting at the craft store, I can think of a zillion ways to stick this stuff on a tank. I may try some thin wire wrap and a couple of beads also!
