Plating on SB?

I am looking at a SB on the classifieds that was purchased several months ago from Altsmoke. It has a Hot spring but not sure about plating. When was the plating (nickel) started on them?

He says it has tarnished, but not sure if it is aluminum tarnish or nickel.

Anyone?

It's just basic aluminum which does tarnish over time, we started plating the Silver Bullets I think last month...I think, but don't quote me on that

Thanks. The one I am considering is at least 2 months old so no plating. I have a BSB from the classifieds and it has some dings and chips from the powder coating. Considering the SB if it is more or less unblemished. Not in love with polishing, but willing to do so from time to time.
