I've been using the Ikenvape Mega Platinum punched! in my IBTankeds for a couple of months now and really like them. I see that the Fusion line is now offered in the 510 thread.

In what way are these two cartomizers different from one another? Is there a difference in the polyfilling or the heating coils? Difference in the draw?

They are based on the same platform. The 510 fusion is the same as the 801 except with the 510 threads. He has spent moocho time engineering his cartos and atty's to what his customers are looking for. With the Chinese and other venders looking to cash in on his hard work and success I don't think it would benefit him to release all his secrets.
However, some like the Fusions better and some the platinum's better. It's really up to what a person is looking for.
For me it's the Fusions.

BTW your gear is very nice indeed!

I use the 801 fusion exclusively in a tank, marvelously consistent performance. The platinums I also like a lot, have one sitting on my VV Grand bottom feeder right now; very nice for times when you don't feel like a standard atty, since they soak up the eliquid when you squonk.

In both cases, I do an initial priming from the top, to set up proper eliquid flow.

I haven't used the Platinums so I can't speak to the differences, but I'm on my second box of punched LR 510 Fusions and every one of them has had issues with my SS drip tips. They simply will not fit in the carto -- its like the DT is 0.1mm too wide. I thought it may have been a problem with my drip tips but they're from different vendors and have worked with everything else in my arsenal... which leads me to believe it might be an issue with the cartos themselves. The handful of delrin and aluminum tips I've tried seem to work fine though... its a bit strange.

Aside from that I really like them -- especially the low density batting. Makes initial priming a breeze and the flavor seems to come out nicely. The DT problem is hopefully only localized to the two boxes I have.

Strange to say the least. I had a friend that had the exact same problem. It seems the bodies are too small by hairlines. I'll have these looked into immediately. I don't use SS tips in the winter

Hey Isaac!!!! Since you're talking sizes here I thought I would mention that the last batch of fusions I got were a hair longer than they used to be. Just a mm or two. It is NO PROBLEM... and probably most wouldn't notice if they don't use something like a lavatank. It just sticks out a bit on the bottom.

Just thought you would want to know.

Thanks again for everything buddy!!!

Haha I live in Texas so winter here is like a nice autumn day up north. But yeah the bodies are only off by a tiny, tiny amount. I filed/polished one of my SS tips to make it fit so it has been designated my one and only official Fusion SS drip tip. No big deal but hopefully you'll get that sorted out.

Mark, with the Reo you do not have to prime cartos before putting them on the reo. Just do 1 or 2 blind squonks first and let them sit about 5 to 10 minutes. The do a gentle squonk and vape away. Blind squonk as needed there after.

I'm waiting for the 510 Fusions to come in regular size without being punched to try them out. Right now I'm liking the unpunched Plats in both tanks and my reos.

Hey bad! Long time no see!

Buy the fusion 510s, you won't regret it man, they are a beautiful vape.

Dude, where you been hiding? :)

I purchased a few 801 Fusion punched some time back just to try out as I was always curious what the original Ikenvape cart fuss was about. I had been using the Plats for some time already.

The first 801 Fusion I tried was horrible right from the start. Normal ohm via my Provari, but just a horrible nasty harsh taste. I blew it off as a bad carto ( It happens, I know. ) The rest were all great. Personally, I couldn't tell any difference between the Fusions or the Plats. I'll likely order more of whatever happens to be in stock since they both appear to be excellent cartos.

That one bad carto is actually the only bad cart I have EVER gotten from Ikenvape. The most consistant high quality cartomizers that I've ever purchased. Highly recommended.

I hate you so much right now! It's freezing here!
Ok it sounds as if the body of the carto is too small. I'll make sure to look into this. Bodies are always done through trade. So I'm afraid this coming up batch won't be modified but I'll definitely see into the next.
